Fall break...

Fall break's been fun, if not completely relaxing....
Wednesday night, Patrick tried to give me a tennis lesson. I say tried because it failed miserably; I was too tired. Then we went to Al's, and then we went to see Elizabethtown- Patrick's required "girly" movie since I saw Two for the Money with him last week.
Thursday, I woke up, cleaned the fish tank- a project, and went horseback riding. The ride was interesting 'cuz some truck kept pushing gravel around, and Cody was a little too absorbed in it to pay attention. Then I did homework...
Friday- I went riding again, this time an actual lesson- the first one since probably my junior year of high school. I wasn't as bad as I thought, but I definitely have a lot to learn about English riding by January. After that I went to work and examined mice for skin disease... Then we found out my cat, Hooky, has conjunctivitis and a respiratory infection. And since I'm the resident ex-vet tech, that means I get to restrain her while the pills are put down her throat and drops in her eyes. I'm amazed she doesn't hate me yet; she gets extremely distressed when we hold her down. Oh, and my mom gave me sushi before she and my dad left for my great-aunt's b-day in Virginia. Yay!!!
Saturday- Special Equestrians in the morning. A guy there told me he can tell I've improved since I've started teaching classes since I'm much more confident when I tell people to do stuff. That made me feel pretty good. I got my oil changed, and my car wouldn't restart. They told me my battery is dying. And of course, my parents are out of town, and I have no money. So, I'm really hoping I can get back to school in time for PC on Sunday. Then my brother (Danny), Patrick, and I went out. We ate at Johnny Carino's, and then got Ben&Jerry's. I love "Coffee, Coffee, Buzz, Buzz" and "Phish Food," which is a great combination, by the way! And then we saw "Doom" which scared me a lot, a fact which amused Patrick. Then we went to a LAN party in the theater for Doom3. LAN parties are where people play each other in a sort of tournament. Patrick, Danny, and I each won a first round. This meant I beat all 3 of the guys I was playing against. It was really funny, they were all extremely embarrassed that a girl beat them in public. Patrick was quite proud. When we played in the finals, it was kinda sad because the one guy we played who wasn't in our group won; Patrick blamed the lava he kept dying in. That's ok, we still got like 6 free meals at Qdoba, 6 free movie passes, lots of Xbox stuff, free Xbox games we can turn in for money, a balloon, pens, water bottles, Patrick and Danny got $80 shirts, an XL Xbox shirt for me (yeah, I somehow doubt I'll wear that around campus too much), Ben&Jerry's coupons, discounts at EB games, and more... Very good for playing a couple games, then grabbing everything in sight.
Anyway, I probably need to do some homework now, I hope my car makes it back to school later!!!
