I love the way Yuuri's mom was introduced in this episode. She's just such a lovable lady, and I love the flashes to the mom advice that happen alot in the earlier episodes XD!!!! I am SUCH a Jennifer fangirl! ^_^ I laught whenever she's on screen because her explanations are so adorable!
Re: Murata, as soon as I saw him in the intro, [Spoiler] I knew he'd be important somehow. but it wasn't until I heard him singing the Bandarbia song in the bath in episode 4 that I KNEW he had something going on. After all, who doesn't notice his friend getting sucked down the drain? XDD
Wow!!! I'm so utterly amazed O_O That must've taken ages! Thankyouthankyouthankyou ♥
And those uniform comparisons... what a treat XD I've seen the British one so many times before (did Brit historyd -_-) but man, Gwendal pulled it off SO much more handsomely :) German uniforms are yummy =33
You're also completely right! The first episode - quite literally - sucked me right in! *laughs manically at bad pun*
it didn't feel like it took that long, probably because I had a TON of fun making the post and taking the caps. XD
I know, aren't the uniform comparisons great?? I saw the clothing information on wikipedia and I had to compare the animation versus the reality. Gwendal is wearing the HECK out of that coat~! <3 If only men in uniform looked that good in real life. XD
*laughs* Sucked you in, eh? ^_^ It's funny how a show with such a silly premise (or maybe because of it??) can be so absolutely addictive!
KKM was recommended to me by Amazon.com of all places! ^_^ I read "boy flushed down a toilet" and thought, "ok, I have to at least see the first ep" I remember watching it for the first time at 3 in the morning and laughing out loud throughout the whole show! I totally thought that I would wake up my husband...but I didn't and managed to watch several more eps (who needs to go to work, really??)
my favorite part of this ep by far is the introduction of Gwendel and Wolfram - their facial expressions, words, and body language totally scream out, "who is this wimpy outsider??" teehee I love it!! ^_^ and of course, Wolfram walking down the stairs - I definitely fangirl-squeed there (and continue to every time I rewatch this ep!)
I do love how they make fun of stereotypical aspects of other animes in the genre...and telling it from Yuuri's perspective makes it cuter and funnier.
Thanks for the amazing summary, uniform comparisons, and additional thoughts!! awesome job and great idea to make this comm! ^_^
It seems a lot of people were drawn in by the cracky "sucked down a toilet" thing. It takes a special show to pull that off! XD I remember watching episode 1 and 2 and then instantly going to the internet to order the next 4 volumes, it hooked me that well! XD Sorry for your husband though, but it was for the greater good! XD
I adore how Gwen and Wolf can tell you SO MUCH about them with just a look - or, more like a glare, I guess. But yes! <3
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the post! I hope the comm with continue to be great fun for all! XD
To answer the first question (and not spoilery): I was in a multifandom RP that had Gwendal, Wolfram, Cheri, and Yuuri in it. I don't remember if Conrad was in it. Anyways, I was really impressed by Gwendal, and eventually asked about where to find episodes in one of the RP's OOC posts. The Wolfram player then gave me links to downloads through episode 60-something (it was wherever it was up to at the time).
I waited until one of my best friends (orenda33, who's actually doing a few episode summaries for the rewatch) came over to watch it. Neither of us had seen it, and thought it was awesome. The ending of the episode was especially funny, because we didn't need a subtitle to understand what "bishounen" was. XD

Wow, series love through RP discussion! That's a great story. ^_^ It seems like a lot of people had their friends get them into the show somehow. That explains the great sense of community! <3

Wah! I'm sorry about your dial-up. T_T I tried to stop making caps but every three seconds there was a new scene that I HAD to capture!!! Yes, I AM a total raving lunatic fangirl, why do you ask??
That's really interesting about the first episode not hooking you. Ah, the fateful decision to try and watch just one more! XD I can see why the first episode might not be the best for everyone though, especially as there's not much action in it and it can be confusing. I definitely got a lot more out of it the second time around!
SPOILERS!~ Although like we were talking about yesterday, I really saw a lot of Murata's sneakiness this second time watching episode 1. He was waiting for the one to come but he NEVER expected it to be Yuuri! I love his expression and knowing what I know now, it just made me laugh out loud. ^_^
I'm glad the summary was fun! I hope you enjoy episode 2's post, since that was the one that grabbed you!!
