Oooh, me, me! I'll do 40! *waves hand* =)

Although one of you tech savvy geniuses will have to tell me how to do screencaps. *is an ignoramus*

Screencaps can be a real pain if you're not too familiar with Photoshop and I've not tried it but I've heard VLC is a pain. If you'd prefer, you can link to a gallery already in existance as long as you credit them.

VLC isn't too tough...unless you're using the DVDs, like me. o_o

About how to use VLC to take screencaps? Or why using DVDs is harder? (Though it gives you much higher quality shots.)

Okay, so when you open the episode in VLC Player, you can take "VLC Snaps" while it's playing by selecting VIDEO at the top of the screen, then selecting SNAPSHOT.

So, what I do is, while I'm watching, when I come to a scene that I want to screencap, I pause it at the appropriate moment and take a snapshot.

It automatically defaults to PNG format, but you can go into VLC Preferences to change that to JPG if you want to.

The reason the DVDs tend to be more difficult is because, when you pause that often, they tend to freeze or skip ahead. VLC wasn't really meant to be a DVD player. However, if you have the patience of a saint, it's not such a big deal. And the high-quality caps you get are certainly worth it.

VLC player is very easy to use for screencaps. After you have it installed, you should probably go to 'settings' and then to 'preferences'. Click on 'video' from the left and pick a folder where you want your screencaps to end up. Also you can change the format of the images that it'll take.

Heehee. Where the screencaps end up is important to me because I usually end up forgetting and then freak out looking all over my zillions of folders FOR ALL THOSE SEXY CAPS I TOOK. XD

I sometimes slow down the video to get certain shots, easier. And definitely for when I cap for animated icons. ^^
