I'm not exactly sure if what I’m doing is right, but from what I understand in my comprehension, I think this is valid. Oh and BTW, this is my first time trying to do a fic for the KKM fandom, so wish me luck guys. Oh. And this is my first post as well ^^

And I'd love to hear your comments. ^^

The new 27th Maou is coming, or so I heard.

“A messenger told me that the Maou was found near the borderline a few days ago, and will probably here in a few hours.” Brother Gwendal had said to me with some sourness in his tone.

I always thought that Aniue would be the 28th Maou, since he has all the qualities needed to lead the country to prosper even more. And I think that he, too, halfly-expecting Shinou to choose him to be Mother’s succesor. He was sure. I was too, almost.

I paced back and forth outside in the open-air; just outside the front door. I couldn’t help but think of what he’ll be like. Will he be the bearer of the “double-black”? What kind of power does he have, and what makes him so great that Shinou-heika chose him over Aniue? What does he look like? These thoughts can’t help but enter my mind as I furrowed my eyebrows.

“Thinking of the new Maou?” Brother had asked, nuzzling a white horse lovingly.

“I’m just wondering what he’ll be like, and what kind of great abilities he must have.” I answered, startled when my train of thought was disturbed.

And then we heard a horse galloping first from afar, but the sound only got louder and nearer after each moment. I guess it was heading toward here. Is it the Maou? I asked myself curiously. The sound got clearer. It was the sound of a horse gone wild. I let my shoulders relax a bit as I think confidently that there’s no way that could be the Maou. I smirked at the thought of a Maou who can’t even ride a horse. Gwendal confidently stood straight and held his sword- just in case it was an idiot robber who tried to do something stupid.

After just a few seconds, the rogue horse entered the gate, throwing the idiot that was riding it mid-air. Is it some stupid human again? I wanted to ask.

“Heika!” The distant voices of Gunter and that filth sounded in unison.

… Heika?

“Heika?” Gwendal raised an eyebrow.

There was to be a dinner party held tonight. I felt disgusted. I just couldn’t accept the fact that the new heika would be an idiot. A maid knocked and told me that the tables are ready.

I sit down casually, and the usual babble I hear at dinners like these are heard.

I tried to convince the others that it was a mistake. How can it not be? How can some humanoid actually be able to run a country?  I argued with him.

“…Even if your father’s a Mazoku, your mother’s still some filthy humanoid.” I said, triumphantly.

Or not.

The next thing I knew, he was walking out the door

“I’m sorry everyone, but I don’t think this dinner can continue properly.” He said as he exited, Conrad trailing behind him.

“Wolfram…” My mother’s voice trailed off. She was obviously disappointed at my behavior. I just looked at her as she quietly exited the scene with her head low and her ecstatic behavior completely gone.

I looked at Gwendal to at least assure myself that he agreed with me somehow, but then he looked away.

“You should’ve known better,” He said sternly. “Even though he may be an idiot, we should never doubt Shinou’s choice.”

I sighed angrily. Things weren’t going to be the same in this castle again. I thought to myself as I, too, slowly exited the room.

A few days after that, he went to the town to look at things when he spotted some robbers attacking an innocent girl and such. Then he got pissed. He has this inconveniently uncanny ability to go and release his Maou when he gets pissed.

So now I’ve no choice but to follow his orders.

By the way, he got flushed down the fountain when he was to be officially ordained.

If I were Shinou, I would’ve ordained him as the wimpiest king ever.

A few months have passed, but nothing has really changed between my relationship with him. Of course, I had no choice but to follow him around, but I only agree to go with him out of necessity, so on and so forth.

Since Gunter always makes him study, he always ceases and grabs the opportunity to go to a trip somewhere. He insists that I go so that he may get to know me better.

“C’mon Wolf. It’s been already 2 months since then, and I still don’t know that much about you.” He pouted. I ignored him.

“How can I be a good king if I don’t even know anything about the people inside my castle?”

I was about to reply with a hasty remark when my stomach churned.

Oh yeah, we were in a boat ride to Shinou-knows-where.

“Hey Wolfram, are you ok?” He asked, worrying.

“Shut up. I’m fine.” I said before my next stomach attack occurred again.

“I didn’t know you get seasick so easily.” He said, suppressing a laugh.

We kept on arguing until we heard a strange sound coming from one of the crates behind us.

There was a girl inside, probably a human.

Heck, I don’t care. I just listen to the babbling of the wimp and the human girl named Greta.

And the rest of the trip involved the usual bad guys trying to go and kill the Maou and all that crap. Tch. I think it was a boring trip, actually. I just stayed inside the room most of the time. I think the only thing that entertained me for so long was my seasickness.

I absent-mindedly got off the damn boat and got on a horse on the way back.

Until I realized that the human girl was to be adopted by heika.

She was even sitting beside him.

“Heika.” I said.

“Huh? What is it?” He said. Seemingly surprised that I actually talked to him.

“And don’t call me heika. I have a name you know.” He said; a tad bit irritated.

“You know that I can’t you know. Only family members have the right to call you ‘Yuuri’. Aside from them, only your fiancée can address you by your name. The rest of your royal subjects and your people are to address you as ‘heika’.” I said, pissed by the fact that I actually had to explain things to him.

“Going back to the subject,” I started again. “Are you seriously planning to go and adopt her?” I asked while looking at the human, who in turn hid behind Yuuri, scared.

He furrowed his eyebrows slightly. “Of course I do!”

He said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world to say at that moment.

I sneered at his words and rolled my eyes. “Whatever.” I said.

Another few months have passed after that endeavor with the human girl, who was now Heika’s daughter. There were also a few inconvenient endeavors since the reign of our 27th Maou, including the one concerning about the Four Forbidden Boxes, and the reappearance of Daikenja.

There are a lot of things going in my mind right now. About the memories I’ve shared. Maybe he was a good Maou after all. He may be a wimp, but I can say that as his follower, he has done a lot to help his country, Shin Makoku.

And now I slowly walk to his room to congratulate him.

For he was to be wed tomorrow to a noble girl named Liesela von Wincott, the niece of the late Julia von Wincott.

“Heika?” I asked to confirm if he was in his room before entering.

“Wolfram? Is that you?” He asked while he hastily opened the door.

“What brings you here?”

“Well of course it’s customary for nobles to greet someone who is to be wed tomorrow.”

“Ah. Arigatou, Wolfram.” He said, beaming for some reason.

“It’s nothing.” I replied as I turn around to walk away.

“No, really. You know what? At first I thought you’d never changed your view of me and you’d hate me forever, or something like that.”

“Congratulations in getting married.” I said, ignoring his statement, and continued walking.

He woke up, sweating. He turned his head to view his surroundings and inhaled.

“Just a dream.” He reassured himself, still sweating from the dream.

“Did you say something Wolf?” Yuuri woke up wearily, rubbing his eyes.

“Nothing, I just woke up from a dream. Go back to sleep. Wimp.” He snickered.

“…Ok. And don’t call me a wimp.” And he immediately went back to sleep.

‘What a bizarre dream’ Wolfram thought. ‘Demo… there’s no way.’ He smiled knowingly to himself. After which, he gazed at Greta. Yuuri’s daughter. Their daughter. He grinned.

‘He’s MY fiancé.’

End.
