But thank you for your praise. I guess it means I'm getting better at writing three dimensional characters.

...I can't look away...
It's interesting that the key to the End of Wind is not Gunter but Conrad...hmmm...

From the bits and pieces I know of, episode 88 is a lie (according to glitteringloke, Conrad's and Gunter's relationship didn't happen that way. Conrad was actually much younger (there is a picture, I think it was a DVD cover, that did have Gunter instructing a much younger Conrad). Gunter is Conrad's role model and in one drama CD Conrad was reproaching Yuuri for turning Gunter into a nosebleeding fangirlboy. There's another drama where it was revealed that Gunter's mother insisted he adopt Gisela because she knew Gunter would never have kids. Gunter also writes BL novels under a pseudonym ( ... )

I've seen the picture of Gunter and a young Conrart you speak of. And yes, I agree with you that it seems pretty obvious that Gunter didn't know Gwendal particularly well at the begining of the series. (Although I sometimes convinently forget this when I'm writing.)
I also remember reading somewhere about his mother having him adpot Gisela, although the BL novels are a new one for me. Rather points to a dedicated flaming queer. It's weird...I honestly had pegged him for a swinger.
Mind you, it still doesn't explain how/why he came to be where he is now.
