So very true. While I admire Adalbert for his good work since leaving Shin Makoku, I pity him for not having the courage to deal with his reasons for breaking away from his people. It rather distracts from his gallantry.
Doesn't it? I don't have much sympathy for him for that one reason. Everyone else who loved and lost Julia (Conrart!) stayed, but he ran. I have to wonder who's ruling his province, and if they're any good. *shakes head*
Very nice. We can always depend on Anissina to get straight to the issue... unless she has an invention to fix it ^^;;
I think Adelbert's father is still alive and in Grantz - based on a scene with the Ten at the beginning of S3 where I think they said that he hadn't left Grantz since Adelbert defected.
Yes, I have a vague memory of that, too, but then I also remember seeing Adalbert's seat vacant during one of the 'voting rounds' among the Ten, so I was left a little confused. o_0
Yeah it was sort of a drive-by explanation. I interpreted the vacant seat as being his father's rather than Adelbert's, but that may just be the fansub I was watching. *shrugs*
