So I didn't get much work done yesterday. My allergies were really bad, so I took some Benedryl, and then I was useless the rest of the day. I wish the weather would get back to normal fall weather so we'd get some frost and kill off all the damn weeds.

Steve called last night. Both of his '74 Torinos were destroyed by multiple trees falling on them during the storm. I never did get to ride in the one he won the drag races with, except in Houghton in the winter. But it's not all that much fun riding in a fast car in the snow.

Other than that, it sounded like he didn't have too much damage from the storm; just some shingles and such torn off his roof. And a lot of cleanup work.

He said the estimate for power being restored was 3 weeks. The damage must be pretty significant; Isabelle outaged about 1 million electric customers last year and it only took about a week and a half to get everybody back on.

So he's been running his refrigerator off his marine batteries and 2400 W inverter, then recharging them off his truck. But someone he knows knows someone who was able to find a generator for him to buy in Alabama. And FEMA said it will repay him for the generator.

Worst part, I guess, is the curfew. No one can leave their property from 7 pm to 7 am. That would suck.
