Yesterday a random resident complimented my skin color. Well, she thought she was talking about my tan but it only turns that sweet golden color because my skin is fundamentally yellow. *sniff*

I also stayed up until 2am, unintentionally. Having done crafty things most the evening, then reading a bit, I finally sat myself down and typed out two grievances. I'd bought the ink for the printer, after all. One was long and the other short, a re-statement for a grievance I hadn't been able to file way back in April due to excessive work load. It left me so wound up I couldn't sleep.

First thing in the morning, I requested union time and, you guessed it, the postmaster argued. She told me to do it tomorrow because I needed to be in eight hours today. I demanded union time because I would be off tomorrow and I refused to miss the 14 day deadline for the grievance. The postmaster sighed heavily and grumbled something about eight hours.

The shop steward and I were done in five minutes because I had all the paperwork prepared and organized. I think we spent most of that time rolling our eyes at the various carriers who fail at preparing defensive statements in advance. So that was that and I flounced off back to my case.

The weather was nice and I finished in eight hours.

After work, I read for a bit, took a shower, then did more crafty things. The bondo hadn't set in one helmet, so after I removed the armature, I cracked the inner layer of plaster and stripped out the mucky, stinky bondo. Apparently, I fail at bondo. :( I replaced that inner layer with fabric plaster. Then I worked on the hammer.

Why, yes, I do like to do my artsy things at the very last minute. It's more fun that way. Even if there is a fine layer of plaster dust all over everything in the kitchen.

daily life, work, art
