Was attacked by a savage maltese puppy adopted by the woman who nominally owns pepper the world's friendliest cat. The puppy tried to follow me and woman lamented, wanting to know why all her animals do that. I mollified her by saying most animals do that with me (and they do).
Last week I was delivering part of a mounted route. I swung until a court, past a parked car. A girl playing hide'n'seek there screamed in mock fear, "Don't kill me Mrs. Mailman! I didn't do it! I'm innocent!!" I kept a stoic face while she took the mail from me, since the mailbox was blocked by the car. Then their mop dog got loose, ran up to my truck, jumped inside and crammed himself between my legs and the pedals. He sat there, wagging his tail, giving me a great big doggy grin. The girl cried in continued mock terror, "Don't, Buster! She'll kill you!" Anyway, then her dad fetched the dog out, apologizing in mortification the entire time. I pretended not to notice.
Today, I finished up editing chapter 11 of that fic wot ain't mine, after slogging through some exposition edits on the fic wot is mine that no one will ever read until the end of time, amen. :x
In other news, the rest of my family returned from their trip to Poland where they were not detained by former KGB or Dex and Doqs' imaginary mafia friends.
I keep not doing my route. Current theory is that Supe thinks I'm on the ODL, except I'm not, so I wind up sorting out my route, helping out on another route and delivering another route entirely while the World's Stupidest TE does my route. Last week he wanted to know where the mini parcels were (right on top of the nutting and he looked right at them). This week he wanted to know where his penny saver cards were. I'm not sure how he managed to miss seeing all 314 of them as he pulled down the mail. Today, one of my residents popped out to take her mail explaining that she thought the man who delivered her mail yesterday was going to bust her wall in trying to get the mail through the slot.
Keith suggested I buy him one of those preschool block'n'slot sets and debated whether or not he would get confused by the star and triangle shapes since both of them have points.
