When I went to get my shot this last week the RN asked if there was anything else I needed to take care of. I jokingly replied, "Not unless you count the oppressive fatigue and low-grade fever."
But they took me seriously, on account that I'm entering week three of those symptoms, along with elevated joint pain, bouts of nausea and all around malaise. I connected it to a flu-like bout I had a couple weeks ago, shortly after getting back from MS, which I assumed was probably a cold. Right? Okay, so the doctor sent me off to get a basic blood count. It came back clean so she schedules different tests. Half hour later, I remembered the truly relevant vector and called them back.
When I stopped by to pick up my lab requests, I flagged the doctor to make certain she'd gotten the message. "Um, yeah, I forgot but I got bitten by a couple of deer ticks and one of those sites became infected. It healed up a couple of days before my flu-like symptoms and, um, yeah."
"...And you're just telling me this now?"
"Remember when I warned you that this might be stupiditis? It was."
:x "Lolz lolz lolz. Here, I need to find the code for Lyme with Reflex."
*pointing at the little check box* "It's right here."
"Excellent! It didn't used to be in the auto-printed section."
And so it goes. Temperature is still 99.something. *is exhausted*
