yeah, that whole contraption may be real, but what i find to be a stretch was that he operates on her (presumably to take her heart out) in one location, transports her via ambulance now attached to the entire setup (must have been a logistical nightmare loading/unloading, can they even fit into the ambulance), and now she's in a proper hospital. i mean, I know she's tough and all, but surely all that carting her body around while it's in that delicate state would have some adverse consequences...plus how long can one be hooked up to that machine, all the way till issue 850?

there were other things that bugged me about this issue as well:
1) hush going after selina here when in the last issue he basically said that neither zee nor selina meant anything to bruce; he seemed to imply that children were bruce's real weakness. so what made him change his mind now?
2) the scarecrow egging the boy bane to finish batman off made no sense given that he was only supposed to be distracting him. if he was successful then there wouldnt have been any point to cutting up Selina, would there.

the more i re-read this, the more annoyed i became...

Oh yes, that. Um, magic. It fit in the ambulance via magic. And it only took four minutes to travel to the hospital. Yes. *looks shifty*

The story is full of holes, but I believe Hush's logic is: Bruce couldn't possibly love Selina because she's trash; he's compelled to be protective of her because she was an orphan. Hence the whole need to protect lost children metaphor. (Don't you just love infantilization of female characters? It's so... romantic, pure and castrating or something). But I think that may be Hush's psychological problem with women, which he's projecting onto Bruce.

I doubt Scarecrow cares about Hush's plans - he's too self-absorbed with his own needs (to kill Batman).
