Gerald Ford's Funerals
Seems to me as if Ford got more attention with all the ceremonies than Ronald Reagan did. Today CNN stopped covering them but MSNBC hung in there.
I learned a lot of things about Ford that I never learned in school and I was always told by older people that he and Nixon had a deal for Ford to pardon Nixon and even my dad said so and he was a teenager at the time, but with all the different people talking about it, now it appears that it wasn't a deal at all but simply Ford thinking it would be better for the country and I happen to agree with that reasoning now. It makes sense after learning these last 5 days what kind of person and President Ford was. They don't do him justice in high school classes.
Did you hear his Episcopal Priest say that three months ago just before he was heading for a conference he got a note from Ford asking him to support civil rights for Gays and Women to try to make peace in the church. Wow! Three months ago!
Well, he's in the ground now and I can now spend the next few days watching C-Span and CNN to see what the Democrats are going to be up to when they first take over.
Anybody agree with sending more troops to Iraq?
