I am obsessed with street fashion. Probably more so than any other kind of fashion. I'm more interested in what everyday people wear than by what a hollywood actress is wearing or whats on the cover of Vogue. I would LOVE to photograph people who roam the streets looking fabulous the only thing is I don't live in a place where people dress fabulously. I live in rural, Virginia - fat chance of me finding someone incredible...unless people don't mind holy jeans and straw hats...
OMG. What if I did photograph country fashion?? How unique would that be? Like real inspiration for dressing country from the folks who know it best? Hmm... Or just fashion from rural virginia...and places I visit....Or student fashion from colleges? Haha...because sweatpants and sweatshirts never gets old. ;)
What I want to know is how you got about getting a stranger to pose for you? Or have them allow you to take their picture without you seeming like such a creeper?
"Hi, my name is Katie. I'm working on a project that contain photographs of real people doing real life things. Do you mind if I take your picture?" or "Hi. Do you mind I take your picture for an internet magazine?"
Do you need to tell them it may be posted on the internet or could it be assume that the public will see it due to the fact that I say I'm working on a project?
