Except that
annieamaryllis was in Idaho, I had all my kids for Thanksgiving. It was quite a group:
kashim687 reezlebee ruuster, and my oldest son (although not his son, my 8 1/2 year old grandson) were all there with my husband and me. My oldest also brought a friend and her two little girls aged nearly two and 3. It was nice to have some little kids in the house again, and they were very sweet and well behaved as well.
We had lots to eat, with daughtti younger and her hubby bringing a delicious Texas sheet cake (lots of chocolatey goodness!), turkey, stuffing, cornbread, corn, blueberry bread, mashed potatoes & gravy, baked sweet potatoes, home made biscuits, and cranberry sauce as well as our traditional mulled cider. Oh, best not forget the pumpkin pie and celery, both with whipped cream. Yes, my two sons actually ate celery with whipped cream. I had my celery straight up. Played some spades afterward while son eldest took advantage of the available free laundry on site.
I think it safe to say a good time was had by all. We called daughtti elder in Idaho and talked to her as well, but I am not sure how much she actually heard as we were a pretty chaotic lot.
Today is my birthday, but my hubby has a meeting tonight, so last night we went out to dinner at TGIFridays with
kashim687 reezlebee ruuster. Tonight after I work out, I will either go out to dinner with son younger or take something home. No cooking for me on my birthday! I think they are doing something at noon for my birthday at work, too. At least my "birthday buddy" asked me on Wed. what I wanted, so I am guessing that will be happening.
So far the day has been pretty good, except that KFC only put one piece of chicken in my 2 piece meal. I think if that is the worst that happens, I am a pretty lucky person. Hope all of you had a great turkey day!
