snakes and salamanders

So I just got back from my first summer class: Field Herpetology. That's right, amphibians and reptiles. I caught (yes, wild animals) and handled 3 different species of snakes, probably held at least a dozen wild snakes, salamanders, frogs, you get the idea. Of course we released them after taking measurements. A lot of fun, except for the exam at the end and showers with very sparse hot water. And we even lucked out with the rain. It never really rained like it did in Burlington all week. So I am now back at this girl's house (5 girls total live here, plus occasional friends and a pretty cute cat-but early wakeup call in the morning. And I'm about to head our for some sushi and Davinci Code. Glad to be here, but still ready to be home.
