Near death with the dead
Last thursday i witnessed the near death of a frail jewish woman
it all took place in a small brick building near the top of a windy hill, this building was built in an era when the Jews were being harassed and vandalized so its very close to a fortress. The doors on this building are 2 inch steel security doors with a pair of thick steel dead bolts and a key that has divots on all four sides making it as close to impossible to pick as they are capable. As i said before the hill it sits on is quite windy and when the set of doors facing out over this hill are open we have to tie them open so that they don't slam shut with much force. These doors have slammed several times and are now bent from the force of contact.
We were waiting for the funeral to come in and the old piece of clothes line was holding one door and the other a cable. just as the funeral procession was about to pass through the door the rope broke and the door slammed shut with a huge crash. A small frail jewish woman was within 5 feet of her death......
We also found a small brown bag which we hoped would contain $100 bills, in reality it contained 3 syringes several band-aids, and a couple alcohol swabs......
apparently some junkie had lost their heroin supplies
We then sputtered about the fixed income housing near the cemetary....
