Ooo! Yes! No, I've never done it (my ex's second wife was a caterer for a while, but I don't know much of what she did). I'd probably make use of your delicious services now and then.
granted, I say that not knowing just how to go about it, nor knowing anything about business (cottage or otherwise) laws in VT, but that stuff is relatively easy to find online.
I think my only suggestion for you would be to try your hand at some farmer's markets-- I know that's what one of the baker-ladies I know out here does.
My sister-in-law's mom does a catering like thing (she prepares full weeks worth of meals for people and then just tells them how to pop it the oven and cook it, she also will go and teach them how to make one whole meal...it's really just a thing for rich people who don't have time to cook for themselves). And a woman who goes to my church started a little personal bakery out of her house...she made the best damn gingerbread cookies ever. They were always soft and just so damn yummy.
Basically, what I'm saying is, I have no idea how you go about doing it, but I've known two people who have done it and who were successful at it. So I have total confidence that you'll rock at it! Good luck!
