~Abandon All Hope: I have now!~

So I don't normally post reviews, but this episode most certainly deserves it! Beware of spoilers for the episode in the rest of this post.

So lets start at the beginning:
The Crowley kiss: It seems like every episode at the moment has a significant amount of slash (so if you don't normally read into it, you don't have much of a choice) which leads me to think: it there something they are trying to tell us..... You have to admit that there has been a lot of it recently, and it was only subtext before... OK, just me!

Cas: How cute is he when he's talking on the phone: utterly adorable and nicely placed comedy there.

Crowley's house: Jo looked pretty, I really like her hair. Loved how the tables turned when Crowley ganked the demons!! I didn't see that coming. And loved how he spoke to the boys (more light comedy) Great to get someone else's thoughts on what is going to happen if Lucifer wins, and so plausible.

Bobby's: Cas drinking, lol. That was priceless: "I think I'm starting to feel something." His face, OMG!!
The scene with the boys was perfect. Finally!!! They realise they have to do this together, just how it should be. I think this was one of my most favourite scenes (back to the basics of supernatural: the brothers) Dean/Jo: oh how I wanted so much more, but I guess that was never really going to happen :( Oh, and the photograph was a good idea.

The town: Amazing camera work, following Cas. I mean it looked visually stunning. I have to hand it to the show the camera work is some of the best.

Luc/Cas: I've been waiting for the scene for a very long time. Why is it Lucifer sounds so convincing, like whatever he is saying is the right thing to do. I mean I'm convinced every. single. damn. time!!! And Cas getting protective of Sam. Now I've seen the episode, I don't really think he was doing it for Sam's sake. More to just stop Lucifer in his tracks. Nothing like I thought when I watched the Space promo yesterday: http://kjcharmed.livejournal.com/78219.html

Meg: I've always HATED her (and that's an understatement) If you're going to kill anyone: KILL HER!!!!

Hell hounds: OMG!!!!! Jo!!!!!!!!!!! Of course she'll save Dean. I was totally freaking out, I almost couldn't watch.

On the Radio: Awww, Dean.... He sounded so hurt when he was talking to Bobby. I was desperately trying to hold back the tears so that I could see the damn screen!! I was obviously just delaying the inevitable.....

Jo: When Jo offered her sacrifice.....I don't think I have the words. The tears came out in floods. I just couldn't stop them, I haven't cried that hard in a very long time. The writers have done a wonderful job, being able to creative such a connection and attachment to the characters of Jo and Ellen. Have to say I DID NOT want Jo to die. I could just about cope with Ellen, but not Jo.

Saying goodbye: Again, words were barely needed between Jo/Dean. Actions speak louder than words!
I'm glad Ellen stayed with her daughter, it's a fitting end for them. Then when Jo died in Ellen's arms, that was definately the final straw for me. I was crying like a baby, I admit it!! I really needed a brown paper bag at this point!

The colt vs Lucifer: Another great shot, with Dean coming up with the Colt to Lucy's head. But can you believe it, after EVERYTHING. The damn pea shooter doesn't work on the devil. While I was watching I thought, he can't be dead, that's a bit quick. Then he gets back up! Oh Kripke; how you're killing me.

Sam vs Lucifer: (Just have to start by saying, how amazing is Jared as an actor?!!!) This was a turning point for me, I didn't feel convinced by what Lucifer was saying. I think after what happened to Jo and Ellen (I mean it is Lucy's fault after all) I don't feel the same devotion.
His speech to Sam though, I have to say again that they are just so alike. Not the whole killing of innocent people thing, but their stories... I really like the similarities.
And we find out when Sam is potentially going to say "Yes" Now we'll all be watching out for any mention of Detroit.

Cas to the rescue: Then Cas pulls the boys outta there. A little late maybe, but...

The photograph: I loved the symbolisation of burning the photograph at the end. Holding onto the past won't help them to move forward. And it was a fitting end to pay tribute to the characters who sacrificed everything to save the world.

One last thing: I give the biggest credit to Jensen, Jared, Alona and Samantha. They told so much with even muttering a word. Their faces told so much of the story. Now that is acting!!
