Atmospheric Pressure Headaches
When the pressure drops fast, usually because a storm is zooming into the area, I get a headache.
I don't always get a headache when storms move in - seems to be mainly when the pressure change is dramatic, i.e., for fast moving storms.
I don't think it's a migraine, because several friends get migraines and this isn't nearly as intense as what they've described, nor are their any side-effects (aural, visual, etc.), but these types of headache sure are misery-inducing.
BUT, what helps it is a pair of Sudafed pills (the standard nasal decongestant type), which takes the edge off, followed by about 1,000 mg of Tylenol, which dulls the remainder of the pain.
I'm not sure why Sudafed helps. Maybe drying out my sinuses reduces one of the pressure factors. Maybe it changes my blood pressure just enough to help. Dunno.
The point of me posting this, aside from the whining, is that if you get these headaches, maybe my drug therapy combo will help you. Or maybe you have a similar combo that works better? Maybe using Sudafed Sinus Headache helps more than the regular stuff? Or maybe ibuprofen works better than acetaminophen?
