Build A City Challenge: Acorn Bend, Week 1 - Pond

Feb 01, 2011 16:54

I did it! I started something I said I would, and within an actual reasonable amount of time too! o_O Yes, I am ill, and yes that's the only reason I got it up here in this amount of time :( But hey, it's up is it not?! :D Now, here comes the SPAAAM!

My name you ask? Amelia Jennifer Pond. But please call me Amy.

This is my nice new house, 1 Baker Street, Acorn Bend. I got tired of living off my parnets in the big cities they moved around in, so I decided to make something of myself, on my own.

The interior obviously hasn't been redone since the house was first built (which seems to be a long time ago..) At least I have a bath and a toilet inside!

I didn't have much money after buying the little house, so I decided to try my luck digging for buried treasures hidden around.

I was rather successful - I found many pots, jars and dragons, as well as rubbish like bones, rocks and tattered paper. I sold them all off for money, they were of no use to me.

I enjoyed painting before I moved to Acorn Bend, so I thought I may as well take it back up again to see if I could get any more money for myself.

Eating was a problem for me - my dad always did it before.

After my initial lack of control, I decided it would probably be in my best interests to at least try to cook.

I was just glad to finally finish eating my "Mac and cheese"

After indulging in some me time, I went to bed feeling accomplished. I had managed to survive a day without anyone else! This was a BIG achievement for someone like me - I'd never been on my own more than a few hours before.

The next morning, I decided to go to the arty sanctuary in the town along the road. I met a WITCH!! Her name's Sunflower, but she didn't really like me to start with it seemed..

After spending nearly the whole day (!!!!) talking about everything, from favourite transport, to wishes, Sunflower confessed that she really LIKE liked me! I was delighted, she had just made my day.

I asked her back to my house as it was getting dark, and I had no jacket. She said yes, it would be a shame to get my lovely..neck cold. I thought this was a bit strange, but ignored it - she's just too lovely.

"WOW! That is sooo cool, I never knew you could actually fly?! You should totally put that on a postcard or something. It would get so manay more people to come here." Sunflower just laughed, I don't know why though, I wasn't making a joke..

I asked her about her magic skillz, and she told me that there was a great website that I would be able to find out everything I wanted to know, without having to listen to her 'bad explainations'. I didn't think there was anything wrong with how she talked, but everyone has their own pet hates.

She showed me where to look, and then that lead to one thing after another... and soon we were watching videos of cats talking. It was amazing! I never knew what all the internet had to offer! I promised myself that I'd check up on that later after Sunflower had gone.

What I never realised it would do though, is make sure you are too excited to go to sleep at night! I had to go have a good hour or so digging for more treasures to try to wear myself out enough to be able to shut my eyes.

When I asked Sunflower over again, I found out she was sleeping at the art place I met her at! Horrified at the thought, I told her she could move in with me because i had enough room to spare. She agreed, and is now living with me! *does a little dance*

After she had a bath and changed into some spare clothes I had lying around, she set up her magic stuff in the corner beside the fireplace. She was beautiful.

Albeit a bit messy, but I can't really say anything - I have just got myself out of that rut.

Our first night together was a bit strange, we both kept to our own sides of the bed, but it was probably one of the best nights sleep I've had in a long time.

Sunflower loved nature, and bigs especially. Her only downfall was that she could never catch them, which made her sad.

Sunflower said she'd help me out with trying to buy a business, how sweet is that?!

After many hours digging, and with the extra money Sunflower brought with her, I was finally able to buy my own little flower shop! I called it 'Pond Flowers', get it?!  Look, there's the certificate. I think it's pretty snazzy myself really.

That made Sunflower want to start her own business too, which I will fully support and help her with. She wants to sell magical stuff she makes, I think that's really clever. I offered her my help to make them, but she told me to never touch her stuff if she's not there. I guess I can just sell the stuff.

My first customer, Nicola I think her name was.

She was lovely anyway, and bought a few flowers from me.

I saw a strange lady wandering past the window a few times, she was green and glowed. But not like Sunflower, it was more.. evil?

I asked her to go steady with me. I don't know if I want to commit any more than this though. But we had our own special celebration anyway.

The next day was very hard for me, I passed out twice in 6 hours. I don't know why, I think I might have to go to the next town and get it checked by the doctor if it keeps up.

I kept being sick as well. Sunflower thinks I might be pregnant! I'm not sure about it, I think it was just the bad pork I cooked for dinner.

I took her to my shop with me to make sure I was alright though, which I think she appreciated. She was a great help as well, it was jam packed in the tiny shop! I think I might have to relocate if it gets any busier.
We had a fight though. That was the bad thing. And I stormed out and left Sunflower on her own in the shop, to give her the "space she needed". It's not like I was doing anything bad, I just wanted to make sure she was putting the right money in the right parts of the till and stuff..

When I got home, I got a phone call. I was shocked. After I had left, Sunflower shut the shop up, tidied up and when she was on her way home, she got knocked off her broom by a speeding car. The officer said she died straight away, and felt no pain. I couldn't handle it. I felt that I had killed her. I needed to do something about it.

So I called in a favour with Death. I brought back my Sunflower from the dead, but with a cost. I couldn't afford the amount of money he was asking for her, because she was a witch. What I gave him obviously wasn't enough to suffice, and he only half brought her back.
It was better than dead though I thought!

I left her to get accustomed to her new form after the inital reintroductions and hugs and kisses. I was needing some fun.

I was so worn out, I just lay and watched the old black and white tv. (Told you it was old!)

Sunflower made some more potions to sell later, but moved her stuff inside to keep an eye on me.

I was getting good at selling  my flowers to the customers, I think I will relocate and sell the existing lot so I can get more moneys! WOOHOO!

She was right after all, she always is. I am pregnant. Pregnant. Carrying a baby! Big shock, eh? Time fairly flies by when all you want is to eat, sleep and watch tv though.

I felt her kick the other day. It was the most amazing feeling ever - well, after the initial shock of WTF is going on!?!

It seems like no time at all until I was packing my bag to go to the hospital in Redgrove - the nearest town. As I was going to get my toothbrush, I suddenly felt like a bag had been burst in my tummy. I WAS HAVING MY BABY NOW! My little angel was about to come into our lives. Little Erin, we had both agreed.

It was the sorest thing I had even been through, and I wouldn't want to be doing it again in a hurry.. if it wasn't for my baby.

My Jeff! We were wrong, he wasn't a little girl. He is the sweetest, most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

Sunflower thinks so too. She's gonna be a great mum, even if she's not all here. She said to me after she stopped cooing over Jeff "Now all we need is to get married, and we'll be a proper little happy family!" I smiled back at her. I think I could manage a bit more commitment now actually. Seeing how happy we are together, the three of us, makes my spirit soar.

P.s. Jeff is a reaaaaaally smelly baby! I have never known a baby to be that smelly, and I've got 2 younger brothers!   H E L P   U S!
