Lukisa Viangusa - a silent warning

Dr. V, as the members of the Polorax community call her, is a native of central Africa, but she's rather bland about locations or her heritage.  Since the virtual distruction of the native peoples of Africa in the first waves of the Viral Decade, she may be one of the few native African women left in the world.

She has published nothing under this name, preferring to keep her nom de guerre as separate as possible so to keep the aliens from finding out who she really is:  Dr. Sophie-Celeste Delacorte, a well-known virologist with dozens of publications regarding the surges of viral influenzas that have become pandemic - and all starting in Africa.

Dr. V is in her mid 40s.  She's extremely thin, exercising often and fast on her feet.  As Sophie-Celeste. she ran marathons in the US and EU.  She claims to be non-religious, preferring logic to belief.

Under her guidance, the Polorax communities have been established in the US.  These communities are studying the diseases that have reduced the world's population to 1/10 of its 8 billion in only 17 years.  The three communities are distant from each other:  Ohio, Oklahoma and Oregon.  There is no physical contact between the communities, but they are in constant communication via computers.   Only Dr. V has been to all of them.  She started each one, funded by national and international sources, to work with the aliens who provided the cure for the last pandemic seven years ago.

She knows more than she says.  But everything she says must be a lie.  So how can the community learn the truth?
