Wow, just wow.
Finished Bioshock, and in the grand tradition of Irrational and Looking Glass games (the makers of it's magnificent spiritual prequels Thief and System Shock)
The inevitable twist in the tale was not entirely unexpected, but still managed to make my jaw drop in the fashion it was accomplished. Even though anyone who has played System Shock 2 should have seen it coming. I agree now highly with
Yahtzee's comment that it simply IS System shock 2 with some minor story and art changes.
Meanwhile, I've been hammering away at Half-Life 2 again, with an eye to playing through that and Episode 1 before I try out Episode 2. At the same time, my Patapon's arrived, and i've managed to lead my tribe of weird bug-eyed odddities through the land with some enjoyment.
All would be good, were it not for the ineffectitude of Tiscali and their crappy phone-lines.
this week so far I've been informed that:
- my line supports only 2Mbits Broadband and I need to downgrade to 2Mbit broadband because the 8Mbit line I have is causing problems. Once that is done I'll get 2Mbit speeds (what I'm used to)
then later told that my line actually can only get 1 Mbit speeds (odd seeing as I regularly have been getting twice that)
And I was told on 4 consecutive days (when the line failed or dropped to pre-1995 speeds) that all was fixed and I wouldn't have problems again.
In other matters I've managed to get over my plague, but Viv is still in full ill mode.
c'est la vie.
