RANT - Pets on Planes

I already have to put up with children on planes, isn't that torture enough when trapped 30,000 feet in the air in a 2x3 space? I loathe the fact that people can currently bring their small cats and dogs in the cabin, now some airlines are letting larger pets have their own seats? Unacceptable. They ARE NOT PEOPLE. They ARE NOT CHILDREN.

These animals are noisy, smelly and just not welcome. I think I'll need to invent something here, I can't share details but let's make it possible for all animals of all sizes to be put in the cargo space where they belong.
Personal Annoyance
-I had to sit next to a guy with a cat once and it was most unpleasant. I'm allergic to cats and having one a foot away from me for 5 hours was awful. It yowled, and paced and shed the whole time. The guy with the cat assured me there would be no to minimal smells due to "this great absorbent pad" in the cage. Great, I hadn't really thought of the turd factor.
-The little dogs that get to go in the cabin. I recall being in the waiting area outside before and after the flight and the owner of the dog didn't believe in a leash. The dog was running around wild in the airport! ARGH!

If you are a pet owner and you don't want to put Fu-fu in the cargo space then you a) shouldn't fly with your pet, b) should put it on a put bus or c) stay at home if you're that worried. Your pet does not belong in my cabin.
