I'm being to lose faith in human nature. I just spent waaaaaaaay too much time reading in various LiveJournal sites. It seems to me people are angry, stupid, and commonly both.
Where on earth did politeness go? Where did neutral comments to define an arguement go? Ladies and gentlemen, when did spelling really define the quality of your ideas? Why are we so quick to decide what people do is insensitive, or bitchy, or rude. We can't see thier faces, or know their tones! When did biting other people's heads off become a recognized hobby?
I'm wondering if maybe people are polite when you meet them in person, but when securely tucked away behind the safety of a screen they drop all pretenses, and just say whatever knee-jerk idiot reaction comes to their pathetically be-labored brains?
Oh my! Stop me! I'm starting to sound like one of them! Arghhhhhh!
I'm probably a sad case of seriously misplaced optimisim, but wouldn't it be great if we were as nice to the people we blog with as we are to our favorite boss? Would it even be possible to create a site where people come for fair, honest, CALM, intelligent conversations? I doubt it would work. I could see the group becoming elitest jerks in no time. I guess I'm just sad that it seems to be asking too much for people to be nice to each other.
Maybe I'll become the happy fairy, flitting around leaving nice comments on random blogs. Heaven knows I spend enough time lurking I could probably drop a small comment or two. Call me the happy-fairy, I skip from blog to blog, waving my magic wand and reassuring you, you aren't as terrible as all the jerks think you are!
And just to piss off Jim-theJack...uh, not so nice guy...I'm NOT going to spell check.
