Transformers and "I said Dragonballs not Dragon's balls..."
So I wached the new trailers for Transformers: Revenge and Dragonball Evolution. I've been expecting the awesome graphics thats come from the first Transformers movie, but in my opinion Michael Bay is gonna make this one fucking awesome. Definately going to see this one on opening night...hopefully without police accompaniment. As for Dragonball... *sigh*, ok I've been hearing more than a good number of people complaining about just about everything about this movie. True, I have a few things that I'm upset about concerning this movie, but yes they are justtified. Now, I'm not knocking everyone elses complaints, but yes, some of them are quite ridiculous. Anyway, I've spent the past 8 years following the plans and ideas that they've come up with when the notion of this anime as a live-action. Yeah, 8 years does sound like a long time to follow something as trivial as this, but tell a Star Trek or Star Wars fanatic not to pay attention to anything dealing with their the object of their attentions.
The main things that stand out with this movie, is the most important and obvious: Goku is Canadian. Brown harir, green eyes. Not asian. Of ALL the cast that should have asian, this is the one character that should have been asian. But oh well, as long as he doesn't fuck anything up that's all I have to say. Chow Yun-Fat is cast as Master Roshi. I don't know if it's just me or not but when I hear Master Roshi, the loveable stooped old pervert, action fighting actor Chow Yun-Fat does NOT come to mind. So why has this been done? Sure whoever is to play this role they need to know how to hold thier own during a fight, but at least get someone who's closer to body build. If anything, they should have gotten Randall Duk Kim to do this role instead of Grampa Gohan, he did a pretty good job in Matrix: Path of Neo as the Keymaker. Piccolo was actually done pretty well; tall, gruff voice, green, bald... sans the antenna. The antenna is a small price to pay for an accurate character.
I am HIGHLY upset that I have yet to see my one of my favorite characters on the cast list, Krillin. WHERE THE HELL IS KRILLIN!!!
Well, now that I'm done with that, i'm tired, i don't think i did so well on my english midterm. I also have to go to work which is gonna suck cause I'm already echausted.
