motorcycle dilemma

Well, as some of you may know, my friend and roommate recently got a Suzuki GSXR 600 ('04 yellow). I had recently been contemplating getting a new bike myself ('06 gsxr 600). Even went so far as to go to the dealer and talk with a salesman. Turns out nearly all the '06s that any of the dealers had sold out, they are hard to come by. So I figured, might as well get an '07. But if I get a new bike I will have to break it in, which is no big deal in itself, but with the trip to FC coming up (and I will be riding) I'd want to have it ready by then.

1500 miles (a complete break in, by the book) is certainly do-able in 3 weeks...but that is *alot* of time and riding.
So, I have decided to just go ahead and get my current bike tuned up and in top condition for the ride. It will mean putting in a few hundred dollars, but the bike really could use it. Also there is something to be said for taking a long trip on a bike you are familiar with.

With that, I think I will wait till spring to get the new bike. I can get my finances in order and get "ready" for a newer bike.

In other news, the vacation was great. Got time to relax and see my mom and sis. I did get a cold and had to spend the night in DFW, but the good outweighed the bad.

No plans for New Years except playing Lumines on the 360. ^_^
