Writer's Block: Be true to your school

Sep 11, 2010 08:04

I disagree. I went to a private school from 3rd-10th grade then transfered to a public school for my 11th and 12th grade years.  When I went to the private school they had your classes chosen for you, you had to do what classes they said and there were only two classes of the 7 day period that you could choise and you had to pick between a reading or writting class and then art or music class. The teachers were utterly rude, they didn't go into debth of what they were talking about(especially math). They would put it on the board and tell you the homework and be like well what are you waiting for you have free time get to work! No help at all.
Now when I went to the public school it was flip flopped. They had tons of classes for you to take in the foreign language classes, the art classes were way more advanced, the teachers would break things down more and in turn give you a little harder homework to actually make you use you're brain. They gave out creative project where you had to actually think. The math classes the teachers actually taught and would do projects such a learning to balance your budget ect and the athletics department was an incredible step upward from what all I was used to. My first day of class there I made more friends then 8 years at a private school that only had one class for each grade. I was with 21 other students for 8 years and no one ever wanted to befriend me but I got to a public school and absolutely everyone wanted to talk to me and greeted me. Coming out of the private school I probably still would of been a shy girl with horrible grades and no idea what she was doing or wanted to do. Leaving from the public school I came out with honors in all my class I was the art student president, captain of my soccer team, won a scholarship through soccer and won a scholarship through my grades, and starting in January 2011 I'll be going to one of the best school in the States for the entertainment business. So as far as I can see and through my experiences, public is better.
