All day, Blair couldn't think about anything else other than her dream from last night. It was all so strange. Blair wasn't happy with her perfect life; she found it all so dull and boring. But when she was on the back of that motorcycle, she felt free. Almost as if she could fly. And before she found out it was Jo, she felt a ping! of excitment being with whom she thought was a perfect stranger. Something about that person rescuing her and being so fearless turned Blair on, and the fact that stranger had a romantic picnic all set up for her made the stranger even more attractive. However, when Blair found out it was Jo who went through all that trouble, Blair didn't feel any different about the situation or the "stranger."

Jo couldn't figure out what was wrong with Blair. Every time Jo walked right up to Blair to talk to her about anything, Blair just stood there, frozen. It was as if Blair couldn't understand, or even hear, anything Jo said to her. It was really starting to worry Jo. "Mrs. G," Jo said to Mrs. Garrett as soon as Jo got her alone, "what's with Blair? Every time I try and talk to her, it's as if Blair isn't quite there. Does she have any upcoming tests or something?"
"Not that I know of," Mrs. Garrett said, "exactly how is she acting?"
"Like this," Jo looked Mrs. Garrett right in the eyes with wider eyes and a slightly parted mouth. Just standing there as if she was a doll that had suddenly stopped working.
"That's kind of spooky," Mrs. Garrett started, "maybe it's lack of sleep or something. I'm sure we have nothing to worry about, just giver her some time."

Blair had a date in five minutes, and she had just started getting ready. She wanted to look her best for the finest French restaraunt in town. When she was finally done putting on her make up, she slipped into her favorite dress. A very flattering blue dress that came down just a little past her knees. She put on silver high heels and grabbed a matching purse before heading down stairs. When she was at the bottom of the stairs, Blair's date, Tootie, and Natalie all stopped and stared at Blair. "Wow Blair," Blair's date, Troy, started, "You look ravishing."
"Don't I?" Blair responded, turing around so everybody could see her in her dress at every angle.
With that, Troy took Blair off to his car. When they reached the restaraunt, Troy opened her door and helped Blair out of the car, and into the restaraunt. He was acting like the perfect gentlemen so far. Seated, they opened their menu, but later Blair found out that whatever she wanted didn't matter. When the waiter came around, Troy ordered everything for her from her drink to her desert. Like he did every time they went out. Blair liked being treated like a lady, but didn't like the fact that she seemed to have no voice. "So Blair," Troy said as soon as the waiter had brought out their drinks, "I was thinking..."
"Yes?" Blair asked, sipping her water with lemon in it.
"We've been dating for quite a while"
"I have my future all set for me in my father's company. As soon as I get my degree, I'll run his business and the only thing left to do is find myself a wife."
     "Right...?"
"I know it's a little early, but I was wondering if you would consider about maybe being the woman that I marry."
"Well, I don't know Troy. Maybe we should get to know each other a little bit better. We are still in high school you know. Let's just enjoy what we have right now, and then maybe we'll know for sure."
Blair stopped. Did I just say that? she thought to herself. Troy's mother and her mother had always wanted their kids to get married. Troy's father was so successful, that he was able to retire as soon as Troy got his business degree. Then Troy and his wife would live like a king and queen. Troy was the American dream., and it was all she had ever wanted for herself. Yet, she felt that all of that, and even Troy, was something she didn't want anymore. That it was all dull. "Troy," she said, "take me back to school."

Back at school, Jo was reading the newspaper. It was only 7:30 PM on a Friday night, but Jo was already tired. A day in school could take a lot out of a person, especially if all of her teachers did was talk for the whole entire class period. "Hey Jo," Tootie said as she came into the lounge where Jo was sitting.
"Hey, what's goin' on?" Jo asked, setting the paper down.
     "Nothing really."
"Hey, have you noticed how weird Blair's been acting lately?"
     "What do you mean?"
"Just that every time I try to talk to her, she stares at me like this," Jo made the same face she used to show Mrs. Garrett.
"She hasn't made that face around me. Maybe she was just out of it when you talked to her."
     "Yeah, maybe."
Just as Jo was about to talk more about it, Blair walked in. "Hi Tootie, Jo," Blair greeted them.
     "Hey, Blair?" Jo asked.
     "Yes?" Blair responded.
"How come whenever I talked to you today, you stare at me as if I have three heads?"
"Oh it's just my English class. Mr. Jones was just so boring today, that I must've been out of it today," Blair claimed.
"Well, okay. Just maing sure everything was allright."
"Hey, Jo?" now it was Blair's turn to ask a question.
     "Yeah?"
"Take me for a ride on your bike?"
     "In that dress?"
     "Why not?"
"Well, if you insist. What time will would you like to be back here?"
"Whenever you feel like turning around."

Out on the road and on the back on Jo's bike, Blair felt excited and free. Almost as if she could fly.
