uncollected thoughts
The other day I drove down the street where I used to live - I happened to be driving through the area. I love driving down that street in Arcadia where there's a canopy of giant trees. When I moved, they shut down the Sam's Club to rebuild it. I forgot about this as I passed by. It was nice to see the area looking nicer and not so run-down.
It was like seeing an old friend whom you haven't talked to in a while. You wonder if they've changed. You hope they have. But you also want them to be the friend you knew. When you finally see them, you're relieved they are still who you love but have taken on a better shape. I like to think that people have the ability to change - for the better, of course. I'd also like to think that I've changed when I see old friends. Although, I think who I am now is pretty much the person I'm going to be for the rest of my life, with just a few tweaks and adjustments that time can only bring.
