WHAAAAT?
So, I have BIG news....
I'M GETTING MARRIED!!
Matt proposed last Tuesday night. :) And I couldn't be happier!!
The proposal was sweet, nothing too elaborate. The set-up was great though. (I found out the whole story later, of course...)
He was off work on Monday. He went across the bay for a job interview, and to go visit his grandmother in the hospital. He was also supposed to pick-up the ring, only it wasn't there!! So, Monday night he when he come over here, he starts talking about this shopping center across the bay and how great it is and how pretty it is etc. This was the 2nd time recently he'd mentioned it, so it wasn't SO random. He says, "we should go over there. How about tomorrow night?" I readily agreed despite the fact that it was a week night. (HEY! It's shopping!)
So Tuesday night right after work, we come by my apartment and pick my new puppy. Matt said he could stand the thought of leaving her here alone that long after she'd been alone all day while we were at work. So we met his Dad so he could puppy-sit while we shopped, and we were to go to their house before we went home.
So we were shopping and after a while Matt tells me he needs to go find a bathroom. So I tell him to go ahead. We agreed to meet in Barnes & Noble a few minutes later, which we did. No big deal. What I didn't know, was that when Matt was supposedly "going to the bathroom" he was actually running across the shopping center to go pick-up the ring. LOL
We continue shopping. All the while Matt has teh ring in his pocket, and keeps being paranoid that I'd notice the bulge, or brush up against him the wrong way and feel the box.
Later when we get to his parents house, we sit down outside on the porch for a minute to talk. We kissed and he asked if my eyes were close. I told him yes. and he says, "good. keep them closed." When he finally tells me to open, he's in front of me, down on one knee with a ring in his hand. He said "I love you so very much, will you make me the happiest man and marry me?" The first thing I said was "you fooled me!" then I quickly grabbed the ring :D Only after I had the ring in hand did I remember to tell him "yes" LOL
