Best friends daughter turns 12 (TWELVE!!) this week - and she's decided she can't be "bothered" having friends over, cos it's "boring" (save me, we have entered.... the sullen pre-teen years... :-o ), so instead she wants to go swimming at the pools with her Mum, me and another friend of ours, and two kids who are friends of the family.
Now, don't get me wrong, it's lovely that she wants to spend her BD with us, but she's TWELVE! I'm fairly sure she's supposed to be off with a gaggle of friends doing each others hair, stealing Mum's makeup and generally acting like brainless twits.... ah well, maybe next year :p
And (forgive the random change in topic), but am I the only one who paid much attention to Michael Shanks announcing he was an alcoholic at the con?? *puzzled* I mean, good on him for making that change in his life and realising family is THE most important thing, but I haven't seen anyone mention it. Is it just because everyone is not making a big deal of it (definitely yay), or have I missed something?? I know everyone laughed (hey, it's a con, we'll laugh at anything after a while :p ), but I think he was being perfectly serious. Just curious!
