The paper from my thesis FINALLY got accepted!  Yay!
One down, two to go right now.

Also, I am now the proud Mummy to two furry babies!  Yep, I broke down and got two kittens - who are currently destroying my new house, including the computer cords :p
Here's some photos to admire!  I've named them Jack and Martha..... yep, the sci fi ( Read more... )

Jack is the tabby and Martha is the black one. She actually has black tabby stripes underneath, so it should be fun to see what she turns out like!

I like the black one. His (or her) expression looks smug and calculating. The other one looks surprised and give-me-a-sec-to-think-of-an-alibi-y. You're gonna have your hands full with those two. Muahahaha. ;)

You're not wrong! Mum bought over a little ball and a toy mouse and she just spent an hour playing with them non-stop! I suspect she's going to be quite a fierce hunter.... eep!

Oh, they are gorgeous! They look just like the kitties in my house! In fact... you didn't collect them from Kapiti 3 days ago, did you? And they don't have 6 toes on each paw? Heh... that would be creepy. The 2 kitties we just gave away together are called Norman (like your tabby, Norman because it have a normal number of toes) and Batgurl (like your black one with random white hairs). The others were called Steve and Teal'c.

LOL! Scary! I didn't count their toes..... eep!
Nope, picked them up from the SPCA in Christchurch today :-D
They are scarily similar tho! My tabby doesn't have the white paws like yours does tho. I'd be happy to think mine came from a great home like yours tho! I think they were found in a shed somewhere, but for all that they're fine with people.
My Mum bought over some kitten toys and apparantly there's catnip in there somewhere cos they've been taking turns to hold it in their mouths and making little growls! It's so cute! I feel so guilty that I'm about to shut them up in the tiny laundry (with a bed, food, water and a litter box!) and go to bed.... I think they're still a bit too young to snooze on my bed.
