Joe shoves his foot in it.... AGAIN

Apr 22, 2007 23:34

Now, normally I wouldn't waste my breath with Joe, after all, we are ALL perfectly aware he's a shit stirrer who's awfully fond of his own "opinions", but I kinda took offense to this:

Well, I can't really speak for prion, but I know I'm not ALWAYS negative and I'm sure I've seen her say some positive things, too.

In a way, it's kinda flattering, although it also shows me I've been smart not to introduce myself to any of TPTB at the various conventions. *shrug* Joe's always been a small, petty person, but it always depends on which side of the fence you're on as to how you feel about what he says. I know I used to cheer him on when he ripped into the SDJ'ers, but times change... and Joe remains as spiteful as ever. Was it uncalled for? Probably, but that's Joe for you.

Do prion and I get special badges now? ;)

No, I'm not always negative either (yes, it's me, Prion). Never met Joe and if I die without doing so, no skin off my back. Yes, if I like something, I say so. If I think it's dreadful, I say so too.

Badge? I want a t-shirt! ;)

"I was publicly ridiculed by Joe Mallozzi and all I got was this lousy t-shirt!"

It is mean-spirited. Most people, just like the casual viewers of SG, are going to skim there, and take a good part of what he says at face value and not question him. (Or like you said, they do question him, and Master of his Own Realm Blog, he won't/doesn't address it.)

And SG fandom has no more hatred or negativity than any other fandom. It just depends on where you choose to hang and fill you head and life with. Guess that means JM is attracted to GW's "Anti" threads?

JM rides that proverbial fence so F'ing hard he probably has splinters going off in every direction in his posterior. Kisses the asses of certain fans at certain times, slashes and swipes at groups in the opposite sides at the same time. Then he baits and switches. ImusJr. of SG? As a professional writer and *coughs* showrunner, he certainly knows and has been trained to do/be better. Oh no, he then claims, everything is *all* in jest.....

Wasn't Joe also the one that said minigeek eats puppies along with a negative comment to a critique/ ( ... )

Here by way of shadowmaat's journal.

Ah, didn't think it would take JM too long to get his oar back in the fandom cum-barrel. Someone should tell him fandom etiquette dictates that it's not entirely cricket to be singling out individuals for abuse.

I'd actually find the fact that he's fandom's biggest wanker more amusing if he found a level of decorum rather than acting like a spiteful child who can't get his own way.

What is amusing though is his double standards. He seems to have enough time on his hands to be reading the opinions of the fandom minions to form opinions of an entire person based on that, yet the fans who write the posts should 'get a life'. I thought he had a job? Being a showrunner must be easier work that I thought if he can spend so much time reading GW. The words 'pot', 'kettle' and 'black' come to mind...

Yes, of course his comments were mean-spirited and will do nothing to endear him to fandom. I stopped reading his blog a long time ago. But I do think his comments show that he is only human and can be hurt just like the rest of us.
