Genre: Romance/Drama
Rating: PG/PG-13
Groups: SNSD, Kara, Big Bang
Pairing(s): SooSun(main pairing eventually), YulSic(slight), SooRa(Sooyoung x Hara)
Summary: Sunny thought moving to Seoul and transferring to an all-girl school was going to be exciting. She never thought she'd be caught in a tangled web of confusion, love, and violence.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sunny stares as the couple walks away. "Ah well that makes sense now. So if Hara is wearing, a red tie and skirt then that means red is the color for 2nd year students?"

"Yup," Taeyeon answers. "You catch on quick don't you?

"Was that sarcasm?"

"What? Of course not! I'm not the kind of person who's sarcastic on a daily basis."

Sunny laughs, slightly embarrassed. "My bad. My brother is always sarcastic around me I guess I can't tell when someone really means what they say anymore."

Taeyeon giggles. "It's alright." The girls continue walking at an even pace to the cafeteria. Inside, the place is bustling with many students buying food, chatting with one another, and eating their lunch. Taeyeon searches around on the tips of her toes, trying to peer over heads. "Dang it! I'm too short..."

"I feel your pain," Sunny says, solemnly.

Pulling Sunny by the arm, Taeyeon leads her through the sea of students. Her expression brightens as she finds her friends. "There they are!"

They approach two girls sitting at a round table. A tall, tanned girl was spreading cream cheese on one half of her bagel while the other girl with short hair stares off into space, bearing an bored expression.

"Jessica! Yuri!" Taeyeon calls happily.

"Ah Taeyeon! What took you so long?" the tanned girl asks.

"Sorry. We couldn't find you through this crowd and you weren't as the usual spot."

"It's because a group of 1st years took the table," the other girl adds. She stares at Sunny. "Friend of yours?"

"Mmhm. Guys, this is Lee Sunny. She's new here to the school. She's also in my History class," Taeyeon explains. "Sunny this girl here is Jung Jessica and the darker one is Kwon Yuri.

"It's nice to meet you," Jessica says politely.

"Same here. And gosh Taeyeon... why must you always introduce me like that?" Yuri sulks. "I'm not that dark. Sheesh. I have other traits too you know."

"Fine. The taller one." Taeyeon changes, rolling her eyes

Yuri smiles. "Much better." Sunny laughs at the interactions between the girls. "So Sunny did you hurt yourself or something?"

Sunny simply smiles. "I was just clumsy this morning when I got to school. I tripped." Yuri nods.

The girls join Jessica and Yuri. They begin to eat quietly. Taeyeon notices Yuri doing something odd with the other half of her bagel. "Yuri what are you doing?"

"Drawing," she replies.

"With a bagel and cream cheese?" Sunny questions.

"Yup! I'm drawing Jessica!"

Jessica peers over Yuri's shoulder and frowns. "That looks nothing like me, Yuri...."

Yuri gasps. "You're right! It's missing the frown lines. Let me fix that." Jessica narrows her eyes at her friend and gives her a slight shove. Taeyeon and Sunny laugh.

"Hey Sica want a half of my bagel since you're not eating your sandwich?" Yuri asks.

"Can I have the half that doesn't have my face?" Jessica asks back.

Yuri hands it to her. "That's fine with me. I don't mind eating you up," Yuri replies with a wink. Jessica blushes then turns away nibbling on the bread.

Sunny notices this but refrains herself from asking about it. "So why don't you want to eat your sandwich, Jessica?"

"Because I am very sure my sister was the one that slipped two slices of cucumber in there. I am disgusted by those.... things people call food." Jessica explains with a disgusted expression.

The new girl doesn't say anything but nods. Taeyeon jumps in saying, "Oh guess what guys? Sunny here already met our Sooyoung."

"Really how?" asks Jessica

"Sooyoung's the one who helped Sunny when she hurt her knee. She took her to the nurse's office."

"That's our Sooyoung alright. Always helping those in need. Bless her soul," Yuri says in a motherly tone, hand on her chest.

"You two know Sooyoung as well?" Sunny asks.

"Of course. She's our friend too," Jessica answers.

"Does that mean you are all popular too?

"Well it varies. I guess we're popular in a sense that we're well known. Yuri here is a captain on the track team, which is why she's so tan. Taeyeon is obvious: she's our Class Representative. Very well known. As for me well I'm a section leader for the chamber choir at our school. I'm a soprano. Sooyoung works as a part time model for the Elle Girl magazine, so everyone sees her picture when they buy a magazine."

"That's really impressive. For all of you. I can't believe I met so many popular people here already..." Sunny says, slightly dumbfounded. "It's only my first day.. It's a bit overwhelming."

Jessica smiles. "There's nothing wrong with that. We're all glad to have met you." Taeyeon and Yur nod in agreement.

"Oh shoot! Where's Tiffany? She still has my math homework!" Taeyeon asks.

"She called me saying she's rehearsing in the theatre," answers Yuri

"Dang it. We have about twelve minutes left. Sunny do you want to come with me? You'll get to see a bit of our performing arts area?"

"Sure sounds fun!"

"Alright. See you later Yuri, Jessica." Taeyeon and Sunny stand up from the table and picked up their backpacks. They were about to walk away when Yuri calls them to wait. "What's up Yuri?"

"It looks like.... you're taller than Sunny," Yuri says slowly.

"No way.... I think you're right," Jessica agrees, her jaw slightly dropped.

"Really?!" Taeyeon asks incredulously.

"Barely... but I think you are."

Taeyeon jumps as high as she can. "I found someone shorter than me! Yay!"

"That makes me feel better," Sunny pouts.

"You better hurry Taeyeon. Got ten minutes left," Jessica calls.

"Oh no! Come on Sunny! Follow me!"

----------------------------------------------------------------

"Okay we're here," Taeyeon says, hand on the handle of the door. They were in front of the school performance theatre. "Keep your voice down to a whisper.

"I hear something... is that... a flute? And piano?" Sunny asks quietly. Taeyeon nods and opens the door slowly. She motions with her hand to follow her. The girls tip toe inside. The theatre was rather big compared to the size of the school. There were many rows of seats, each seat numbered. Sunny sees a girl with straight shoulder length hair on the stage, playing a flute. Behind her there was a tall looking girl with sleek black hair, playing the piano. Sunny noted that the girl with the flulte had a blue tie while the girl at the piano had a red tie.

Taeyeon picks one of the back rows and sits down quietly.  Sunny takes the seat next to her. They both listen quietly as the two performers finish. Sunny was amazed at the beautiful sound emitting from the flute. The song was playful sounding yet peaceful and the intonation was very professional sounding. She was also amazed at the clarity of the notes. She played the piece with swift, nimble fingers. The pianist contributed to the feeling of the music, playing just as well. There was a sad sounding part in the piece, adding dramatic effect before returning to its playful tone. The flutist ended strongly with a series of complicated fingering.

Both players jump as they here Taeyeon and Sunny clap enthusiasticly from the back. The pianists sits up, smiles at the flutist and they both bow. Walking towards them Taeyeon says,  "Great job Fany. You too, Seohyun. That was amazing. Even though we listened from the middle... all I can saw is just... Wow. Oh by the way, this is Sunny. She's new to the school but already my friend as well as Yuri's, Jessica's, and Sooyoung's. Sunny this is Hwang Tiffany and Seo Joohyun, but call her Seohyun. They both are part of the Wind Ensemble at this school."

"I'm still speechless from hearing your performance," Sunny admits, still in awe.

"Thank you very much," Tiffany and Seohyun say in unison.

"See Fany? Aren't you glad I recommended you for the Wind Ensemble?" Taeyeon says.

"Yeah, Unnie. You've improved even more on the flute," adds in Seohyun.

"I guess," Tiffany says with a slight laugh.

Turning to Sunny, Taeyeon says, "In her 1st year, Tiffany was orignally in the choir when I met her. But after hearing her play the flute, I recommended to the band director about her playing. And now she's principal chair in the ensemble, meaing if their's flute solo Tiffany's definitely playing it."

"Right now, I'm playing a solo with an accompanist, in my case, Seohyun, for this retirement home downtown for community service as well to give a happy warm feeling to the elderly that reside there. And you should also listen to Seohyun play by herself. She's just as amazing," Tiffany adds in. Seohyun shakes her head, denying it.

"By the way, Fany, can I have my math homework?" Taeyeon asks.

"Yeah it's in my bag in the pink folder. Thanks a lot Taeyeon," Tiffany says, pointing with her flute. Taeyeon sees a pink tote bag on a seat in the front row and talks out the folder, collecting her homework.

"I hope I get to hear you two perform again," Sunny says to Tiffany and Seohyun.

"I'm sure you will. Our piece still needs some work," Tiffany says with a smile. The next thing the girls hear was the bell. "Looks like lunch is over."

"Guess we better get going to our next class. Bye Tiffany! Bye Seohyun!" Taeyeon calls.

"It was great to meet you two!" Sunny adds.

"Likewise!"

"Bye!" Seohyun waves.

Hurrying out of the theatre, Sunny and Taeyeon head off to their separate class. They quickly say a goodbye to one another as they run.

---------------------------------------------------------

For the remainder of the day, Sunny had her last two classes: Physics and Multicultural Art. She met a couple of new friends in Physics. But that was the only good part of the class. Even though she took it in her old school and her teacher here was better at teaching, she still didn't really understand the course. Multicultural Art was more fun. At the moment the class was already starting on weaving baskets. The teacher told her to do as much as she can and not to worry about the deadline. She told Sunny effort and participation mostly count on her grade. Sunny was relieved to her that but it did not stop her from trying her best.

Finally the final bell of the day rang. Students from every class ran out of their classrooms, excited to be free from their educational prison.

Sunny walked out of the building and into the courtyard, where she fell earlier in the day. Groups of students were wandering about, the sun's rays warming the air with a brisk cool wind flying around. On the other side of the courtyard she sees Sooyoung with Hara. They were chatting and holding hands. After awhile they hug, Hara being the one separating first and leaving with a wave. Sooyoung waves back, a big grin on her face. Sunny smiles at the couple and heads home.

Walking down the familiar trail, Sunny stretches her arms upward. 'Today's been really hectic, but I'm glad I met so many kinds of people. I'm going to enjoy my stay at my new school for that's for sure.' As she continues walking she could feel one of her shoes slightly loose. Sunny looks down and finds it untied. She bends down to tie it, making sure her skirt doesn't fly upward.

After tying her shoe, Sunny stands up. She felt someone tap her should so she turns around. "Oh Sooyoung! Hey!"

"Hey Sunny," Sooyoung says warmly. "Walking home?"

"Mmhm"

"Great! Mind if I join you. My house is in this direction too."

"I'd be delighted," Sunny smiles. The two girls walk side by side

"So," Sooyoung begins, turning her head to her. "How was your first day here?"

"Really fun. Oh! I met Taeyeon, Yuri, and Jessica. Tiffany and Seohyun too! They said they know you."

"Wow you met most of my friends! I recently met Seohyun but she's a nice girl," comments Sooyoung.

"I know about Hara too," Sunny adds.

Surprise showed on the taller girl's face. "You met Hara?"

"Well no. I just saw her with you and asked Taeyeon about it. She told me you were dating her."

Sooyoung turns a little red. "You know a lot already even though you attended our school for only a day."

"It's because I met you," Sunny says. Sooyoung laughs.

The girls eventually stop in front of Sunny's house. "Well this is my house."

"No way really? You're the one that moved in? Cool I live three houses down from here," Sooyoung says pointing down the street.

Sunny smiles big. "We're kind of like neighbors!"

"Hey you want to walk to school together in the morning since we live so close to each other?" Sooyoung asks.

"That's a good idea. Sure thing!"

"Okay I'll be the one to come ring the bell at your house. Well I better go now. See you tomorrow!"

"Bye Sooyoung!"

Sooyoung walks away towards her house. Sunny's face still had a smile on. Turning, she heads for the door, already fumbling for her keys. 'Today was good day,' she thinks to herself as she puts the key in the hole.

'Yup. Definitely a good day.' Sunny walks inside and closes the door.

A/N: Well that concludes this chapter. Next one will introduce some Kara members too :) Thanks for reading!

PS: When I imagined Tiffany and Seohyun performing, I imagined them playing this song.

www.youtube.com/watch

As a flutist myself, I find it beautiful. Listen if you have time. If you don't want to see the old men playing, just imagine Tiffany and Seohyun in their place.
