Summary: Sunny thought moving to Seoul and transferring to an all-girl school was going to be exciting. She never thought she'd be caught in a tangled web of confusion, love, and violence.
----------------------------------------------------------
School ended a few minutes ago and Sunny and Sooyoung were walking home together. They continued to chat about what happened today at lunch. "I can't believe I missed the massive confession," Sunny sighs, throwing her arms in the air. "I wanted to hear Yuri sing!"
Sooyoung laughs. "You wouldn't expect it coming from a track athlete but Yuri actually has a pretty voice. I'm sure everyone, especially Jessica, was surprised. I know I was!"
"Awww don't say that! Now I REALLY regret missing it!"
"We'll invite her next time we karaoke. And where were you at lunch anyway?"
"Well," Sunny hesitates. "Let's just say I had a lot on my mind. I just went off by myself to clear my head."
"So we were right."
"We?" Sunny echoes.
Sooyoung nods. "You see, Yuri, Taeyeon, me and well the rest of us, minus Sica of course, were goning to ask you if you would help with the confession process. But Yuri and Taeyeon mentioned you seemed trouble lately and didn't want to bother you."
"Oh." Sunny lowers her head as they continued walking. "But if I knew it was going to be for the confession I would have gladly helped..."
"But are you feeling better now since you already cleared your mind?" Sunny nods. "Well then, that's all we wanted from you," Sooyoung smiles.
Sunny turns away, slightly flushed. "Umm.. s-so what exactly was the confession process?"
"It really isn't all that much, to be honest. Taeyeon, Hyoyeon, and I were in charged of keeping Sica away from the cafeteria until Yuri was prepared. The rest of the gang were simply calming Yuri down, because she was really nervous."
"Yuri nervous? Really?"
"Mmhm. You wouldn't expect it, but when it deals with love she becomes a nervous wreck. Even though she prepared her confession about a week ago, wrote it down, rewrote it 7 times, and rehearsed actually saying it about 12 times just last night, Yuri was STILL feeling unprepared. And don't get me started how long it took for her to write her ballad. Oh gosh. Who knows how many pieces of crumpled binder paper are lurking in her room," Sooyoung shakes her head
Sunny giggles. "That is hilarious. But just how did you guys manage to keep Jessica at bay for that long?"
"Well about that... She was getting really impatient with us and let's just say I had to use a certain object to keep her away. I have a feeling the next time I see Jessica I'm going to get more than an icy glare," Sooyoung laughs.
-----------------------------------------------------
On another side of town, Jessica and Yuri were walking home together, hand in hand. Though neither of them spoke, both knew enough has been said. At least for the moment. People passed by them, raising their brows as they eye their hands. It didn't matter to the couple what strangers would think about it. There was nothing to be ashamed of.
"They should learn staring is rude," Yuri chuckles as she breaks the silence.
"Ugh seriously," Jessica agrees.
"Personally I think they're just jealous. We're too pretty for them. Especially you."
"You dork," Jessica smiles. They continue walking in silence until they came to the entrance to their neighborhood.
"So," Yuri begins again. "may I ask you something?"
"What is it?"
"Would you like to spend a Saturday night with me?"
Jessica gasps. "Why Yuri... I'd be delighted!"
Yuri smiles big. "It's a date then. Oh! By the way Jessica, there's something I've been wondering. You know how I had Taeyeon, Hyoyeon and Sooyoung keep you away from the cafeteria?"
"Yes?"
"I'm surprised you didn't shove your way through them. Weren't you very suspicious?"
Jessica sighs. "Very. But there was an obstacle in my way I just couldn't avoid."
"What would that be?"
"Sooyoung had a small bag of sliced cucumbers and she threatened to throw them at me if I moved passed them." Yuri bursts out laughing. "Hey Yuri! Don't laugh! It's not funny!"
----------------------------------------------------
From a secluded alleyway, a young man was leaning against the wall, watching the two girls. He manages to hear the last of their conversation because they were so loud. But after hearing one word, he glares at their backs through narrowed eyes. That one word escapes his lips, filled with hatred and rage.
"Sooyoung," he hisses.
---------------------------------------------------
Saturday morning; Sunny's favorite day and time of the week. The sun was shining high and bright in the sky. Patches of clouds were spread out evenly and slowly circled the city from above. Sunny was sitting on the steps leading to her front door with Bun Bun on her lap, crunching on a carrot with gusto.
"Jeez, can't believe your eating so fast. Isn't this already your third carrot, Bun Bun?" Sunny asks look at her pet rabbit. Bun Bun momentarily stops eating to look up, twitch his nose several times, and swiftly shakes his head before going back to his meal. Sunny chuckles and runs a hand gently through his snow like fur. "Fine then. Just eat your carrot."
Sunny quietly hums a song to herself as she enjoys gazing her surroundings. Bun Bun finishes the carrot and stretches before snuggling into Sunny's arms. He suddenly stands on this hind legs with his ears perked to the left. Sunny follows his view to find two familiar people. "Sooyoung! Hara!"
"Hey Sunny!" Sooyoung waves.
Sunny runs to them while carrying Bun Bun in her arms. Hara immediately squeals at the sight of the rabbit. "OH MY GOD IT'S SO CUTE!"
"A BUNNY! CAN I HOLD IT!?" Sooyoung squeals along.
Sunny takes a step back but laughs. "Yeah go ahead." She gently hands Bun Bun over to Sooyoung.
"Omo! So soft!" Sooyoung nuzzles the rabbit's head with her nose.
"His name is Bun Bun." Sunny turns to Hara. "You can hold him too if you want."
Hara claps excitedly. "Sooyoung let me hold Bun Bun!"
"Aww I wanted to play with him a little longer," Sooyoung pouts as she hands over the rabbit to her girlfriend. Har giggles as Bun Bun presses his twitching nose against her cheek, the whiskers brushing and tickling her. After a few minutes of cuddling and petting, the couple hands back Bun Bun to Sunny.
"So what brings you to this part of the neighborhood Hara?" Sunny asks the younger girl.
"I'm going over to Sooyoung's house to cook lunch for her. You'd never expect it coming from a model, but this girl can eat like a pig. It never ceases to amazes how she never gains weight!"
"Hey hey hey!" Sooyoung interrupts. "I gained two pounds this morning!"
Hara pokes Soooyoung in the side, unconvinced. "It doesn't show. You should be grateful."
"I'll probably gain more after you cook me some of your special delicious pasta!"
"It's really my grandmother's recipe. You should come over and join us," Hara says to Sunny.
Sunny ponders for a moment before answering. "Okay. Maybe a little later."
"It's been a long time since you've made me that pasta, Hara." a voice calls from behind them.
In front of Sunny, Hara and Sooyoung's eyes widen, expressions of dread and fear on their face. Their breathing suddenly becomes fast and ragged. Sunny's never seen either of them like this. "No... that voice. I... I know that voice," Hara's lip quivers as she speaks. Next to her Sooyoung expression darkens. Together, the couple turns around towards the source of the voice. Sunny comes up from behind and stands on the other side of Sooyoung.
A few feet away, there were three guys heading their way. One was wearing a black long sleeved shirt, black cargo pants, and clad with a black cap that was tipped to one side covering an eye. The tallest of the three wore a very lose black tee, faded grey denim jeans, and a checkered bandana around his neck. The last one who stood in the middle wore a sleaveless white shirt that look pretty torn up and black jeans. In the middle of his shirt was a frightening black skull. All three guys had eyes that were black as coal, no signs of compassion in them, cold as the air in space.
The guy with the skull shirt approaches the three girls, but stares at Hara with a twisted crooked smile plastered on his face. "Miss me, Hara?"
Hara stares back, horrified. "S-Seungri..."
Sunny's eyes widen at the name, a chill suddenly crawling down her spine. Sooyoung gets between Hara and Seungri, her eyes gazing evenly into to his. "Well, well," Seungri sneers. "if it isn't Choi Sooyoung. Feh, as usual you are always in the way."
"What are you doing here?" Sooyoung asks calmly, though there was spite in her tone.
"The three of us were just on our way to one of our districts across this neighborhood. But after hearing you all, I just had to stop by... for old times sake," Seungri chuckles darkly.
"Speaking of the district, we should be going their now Seungri. We're suppose to be patrolling our territory," the guy in the cap growls.
"God, relax Taeyang. you hear no complaints from TOP do you?" Taeyang turns to the taller one, hoping he would agree with him instead.
"Let him have his fun... for now," TOP replies. Taeyang snorts and turns away, annoyed.
Seungri smirks turning back to Sooyoung. "Anyway, looks like you two have been... well. And what's with the midget?" he adds, turning to Sunny. Sunny was about to snap back, but after looking into his eyes the chilling sensation of fear returned. She bit down her tongue.
"Go away, Seungri. You have no reason to be here," Sooyoung says sternly.
"Oh I do have a reason. I want to remind you that I'm back. Also I want to remind Hara here... that I told her she would regret her decision of leaving me for the likes of you. And she will," he hisses.
In anger, Sooyoung slaps Seungri hard across the face, his cheek now red. "Don't you DARE threaten, Hara."
Seungri twists his head towards Sooyoung, anger flaring in his eyes. He grits his teeth and snarls at her. "Now you've done it. You've just pissed me off."
Behind Sooyoung, Hara grips tightly on the back of taller girl's shirt. "S-Sooyoung..." she whimpers. Sunny stands there, frozen on the spot. She didn't know what to do; she felt just as helpless. She feels Bun Bun's fur beginning to fluff up and his body starts to rumble but takes no notice to it. Bun Bun squirms in her arms as she could only watch the horrible scene unfold.
"You really are asking for it, aren't you?" Seungri demands, cracking his knuckles. "You should have learned last year that I'm not a nice guy." Like deja vu, Seungri instantly grips Sooyoung's shirt, pulling her face close to his. "Maybe I need to remind you the feeling of me punching the shit out of you," he breathes hotly on her face. He tightens his fist.
"Sooyoung!" Hara and Sunny both yell.
In Sunny's arms, Bun Bun wiggles out of her grasp. Using his powerful hind legs, Bun Bun lunges at Seungri's face and begin's scratching viciously at his skin. Seungri screeches as the animal attacks him and let's go of Sooyoung. He furiously grabs Bun Bun by the torso, and slams the rabbit to the ground. Bun Bun makes a noise and lays on the ground, not moving, eyes closed. Seungri curses as he feels the numerous scratches on his face, feeling the burning sensation from each wound. "Damn rabbit!" he spits.
"You totally got owned by a cute wittle bunny," Taeyang snickers. TOP just stands there, arms crossed, smirking.
"Shut the hell up Taeyang! Just whose side are you on?!" Seungri snaps. He shoves Bun Bun with his foot. "Annoying pest..."
"STOP IT!" Sunny cries as she runs over to Bun Bun. Bending down, she picks him up and cradles him in her arms. "Bun Bun.. why.. why did you do that?!" she sniffles. One by one, tears pour from Sunny's eyes. Hara bends down next to her and gives her a comforting hug, her eyes beginning to water. Sooyoung stares at Bun Bun, realizing he just saved her.
"Sunny? What's going on?" Everyone turns to Sungmin who just left the house.
Sungmin looks at Sunny who was kneeling on the ground crying and Bun Bun, his white fur dirty and soiled. "S-Sungmin..." Sunny sobs,
Anger flashes in Sungmin's eyes. He turns to Seungri. "Did you do this to my sister?"
"I did nothing to her. Can't say the same thing to the piece of shit she's holding," he snarls. "You really don't want to mess with me. I'm not in the best of moods right now."
Sungmin narrows his eyes at Seungri. "Pathetic. Picking on a pet rabbit."
Seungri growls and throws a punch at Sungmin. With no effort, Sungmin catches his fist and tightens his grip, squeezing Seungri's hand. Seungri takes a step back, surprised how strong Sungmin was. Sungmin continued to have a firm grip on Seungri. "I'm not as weak as you think I am. I've had a black belt in karate for 15 years. To be frank, I doubt you would win against me one-on-one." He pushes away the younger boy. "You guys get out of here or I'm going to call the police."
Seungri was about to say something until TOP interrupted him. "Seungri we're leaving."
"But I got to show him I can beat h-"
"No, we're leaving," TOP orders, glaring at Seungri. "Your thirst for revenge isn't worth getting arrested for. Have you already forgotten you'll be tried as an adult next time you are arrested?"
Seungri says nothing and follows his superior's orders. Before leaving he turns back at Sooyoung. "I'm not finished with you yet."
"Stay away from Hara," is all Sooyoung says.
Seungri laughs maniacally. "There's more than one way to hurt you, Sooyoung." With that said, he and his fellow gang members walk away..
Sooyoung breathes a heavy sigh. She turns around to look at Sunny who was still kneeling on the ground, cradling Bun Bun. She walks over to the shorter girl. "Sunny..." she says. She didn't know what else to say.
Without a word Sunny stands up and heads over to the door of her house, with Sungmin trailing right behind her. Then she says, "I need to go help Bun Bun... To make sure he's okay.." She enters the house and closes the door behind her.
With a frown, Sungmin says to Sooyoung and Hara, "You two should head home. Don't worry, Sunny will be fine. I don't really know what happened or what's going on... but you two be careful alright?" The couple nods and Sungmin leaves them, going inside the house.
Hara hugs Sooyoung from behind, tears in her eyes. "Did we just get Sunny involved...?"
Sooyoung looks up at the sky, a huge cloud covering the sun and casting a dark shadow around them.
"I hope not... God, I hope not."
---------------------------------------------------------
"What a waste of time," Taeyang complains. The three gang members were heading to the other side of town.
"Can't you keep your trap shut for five minutes?" Seungri snarls.
"Taeyang, stop provoking him," TOP says. "But Seungri, if you keep wanting to get your revenge you won't be allowed to stay in Big Bang. We're having trouble with those in Double S, and your personal problems are just getting in the way.
Seungri grunts. They wouldn't understand the inner turmoil. No matter what he's going to pay Sooyoung and Hara back for what they did to him a year ago. He smirks, glancing at TOP and Taeyang. 'And you two are going to help me bring misery to Sooyoung's life: through her loved ones. And I don't mean just Hara.'
------------------------------------------------------------
The day went by fast, day turned to night. Yuri and Jessica were just finishing up their food at a local burger joint. It wasn't exactly the best way to start their first date, Yuri knew that but she knew Jessica loved American food. She treated her new girlfriend to whatever she wanted. She wondered if Jessica thought she was being cheap, but she didn't get that vibe from her. Being at a burger joint didn't stop them from having fun. Sad to say, by the end of dinner, Yuri was broke. But there was a good valid reason why she was.
When Yuri mentioned they were going to a fast food place, it wasn't what she had in mind. Nonetheless, Jessica had a great time just spending time with Yuri. She felt bad when Yuri bought all of her food, especially when she mentioned she was broke. Jessica told her girlfriend she was going to pay for the next date.
"Thank you for the food," the girls say, bowing. They were the last customers in the place
"No problem girls," the manager says. "Get home safely. Have a good night."
Leaving the burger joint, the girls begin to wander aimlessly. "Is there another part to this date, Yuri?" Jessica asks hopefully.
Yuri grins. "I thought you'd never ask. Care for a late night stroll in the park?" Jessica nods and smiles.
The girls head for the park, which wasn't very far from their current location. Inside the park they take their time walking through it, walking at an even pace. It was a quiet evening, the moonlight shining over them, the park's fluorescent lamps guiding them to the exit. Yuri grabs Jessica's hand as they walked. "Come on, it's not too far," she says excitedly.
Jessica giggles as Yuri tugs on her arm. She wondered what her spontaneous girlfriend had in store for her. If Yuri was willing to jump on a table and scream her confession through a megaphone for her, Jessica was sure she was willing to do anything. It was flattering and adorable. They ended up in the middle of the park. There was this lone park lamp that seems different from the others they passed. To Jessica, this particular lamp shone brighter than the others. Yuri leads her directly under the lamp, smiling.
"So what's up Yuri?" Jessica asks.
Yuri rubs the back of her neck sheepishly. "Well first I'd like to apologize for the crappy dinner. I felt really bad about that."
"I don't mind at all. As long as I'm with you that's all that matters to me," Jessica smiles.
Yuri blushes. "Ahem! Well! Um... there's a reason why I could only buy you fast food..." Yuri digs out from the pocket of her jacket a small box with a bow on it. She hands it to Jessica. "Here this is for you. It's the reason why I couldn't take you out to a fancy restaurant..."
Jessica eagerly opens the box and gasps at what's inside. It was a gold necklace with a heart shaped locket attached. On the front of the locket "YulSic Forever" was engraved and inside was picture of them making a heart with their hands. Jessica felt like she was going to cry. "You got me a gold necklace?!"
"It's 14k gold," Yuri says, embarrased.
"Oh my God, this must have cost a lot! How did you afford this?!"
"Well you see one of my dad's friends owns a jewelry store, and he owed me a favor so he was able to sell me one at a really cheap price, even willing to do the engraving for me for free. I'm still broke though." Yuri laughs, then stares at the lamp above them. "You must be wondering why I gave it to you here, aren't you?" Jessica nods.
"I'm sure you've noticed that the glow from this lamp is different from the others." Jessica nods again. "When I met you in our first year of high school, you were very different from the other girls I met. I should I say it.... the air around you had a different feel to it. And though you gave me the cold shoulder at first, I just had to be friends with you. You probably remember me pestering you don't you."
"How could I forget? You were that girl who kept wanting to sit next to me at the lunch table, even when I vehemently said no," Jessica chuckles.
Yuri continues. "It took me awhile to break down your wall, but when I did, my heart started beating faster. When you smiled at me for the first time, in my eyes, you were glowing. You are just like this lamp; your glow was brighter than all the others. When we finally became friends, it was only natural I fell for you. I know I said it already, but I love you Jessica Jung and I'll do anything for you and protect you. Even if it will cost me my life." Yuri takes the necklace and walks behind Jessica, putting it on for her.
"Oh Yuri... I'm trying so hard not to cry... How am I suppose to give you a gift that can compete with a gold necklace? This is the best gift I've ever received," Jessica sniffs.
"The best and only gift I ever need from you was you loving me back," Yuri replies simply. "You do love me, don't you?"
"More than you know." The two share a loving embrace that seemed like eons to them. "I love you Kwon Yuri," Jessica whispers. Yuri smiles.
"It's getting late and even though I don't want this night to end, I think it's time we go home," Yuri says.
The girls continue walking down the park path, holding hands. Jessica's new locket twinkles as the lamps' glow reflects off of it. While walking, two figures emerge from the darkness of the trees. They were young men, eyeing them with predatory smiles.
"It looks like they've finally showed up, TOP," the one with the cap says.
"You're right Taeyang," TOP says. "We've been waiting for you. You two can come with us now."
Jessica get's behind Yuri. "Sorry but we're not interested," Yuri says cautiously.
Taeyang walks up to Jessica and wraps his arm around her shoulder. "Come on, babe. We thought you guys wanted a little... fun."
Yuri pushes him off. "Don't touch her!"
"What the hell?!"
"Jessica run!" Yuri yells. They begin running trying to find the park's exit.
"Shit. Taeyang come on we got to catch them!" TOP orders. The two men were now running after Jessica and Yuri, already catching up to them. Due to fear and the adrenaline pumping inside of her, Yuri doesn't notice the uneven pavement and trips. She falls to the ground.
Jessica keeps running until she realizes Yuri wasn't with her. "Yuri!"
Yuri pants on the ground and looks up to find TOP grabbing her arm. "Got you!" Yuri squirms and starts kicking and flailing at him. "Taeyang hold down her legs!"
"L-Let me... GO!" Yuri screams. She sees Jessica a few feet away from them, frozen in place, fear in her eyes. "Jessica! Run away! Now!"
"B-But... b-but I...!" Jessica stutters.
TOP pushes Yuri's back down onto the pavement. "Stay down!" Yuri struggles but she was no match for the both of them.
"Jessica! Please get out of here! PLEASE!" Yuri wails beneath TOP and Taeyang. "RUN!"
Tears start to flow out from Jessica's eyes. She grips her locket tightly.
I love you Jessica Jung and I'll do anything for you and protect you.
Jessica's eyes widen.
Even if it will cost me my life.
"YURI!" she screams.

A/N: This ends this chapter. Sorry for the cliffhanger. Chapter too long as it is. The situation will unfold in chapter 7.
I was a bit depressed after writing ch. 6, so if you are too I apologize for that... But it's only gonna get worse from here on out. Anyways thanks for reading!
