The moon pierces a hole in the night sky
And it seems God himself shines through
With a startling brightness that speaks only of
Intensity no human hand could duplicate
Every surface sees the glint of the moon
Reflected integrity of an age of doubt
Made bright against the power of the shadows
Threatening to swallow our energy
And as shadows are cast by this hole
Perforating the empty dark basin
We can measure our silhouette
Against a silver heaven without night
