Well, this update was originally going to take place in my new journal, but I figured I'd split it up. Since everyone seems to be doing this '2004 Reflection' thing, I guess I'll just follow right along. This won't be incredibly long though, seeing as I have other things I need to do today.
Overall 2004 was one of the more stressful years that I've lived through. I managed to survive Northside College Preparatory Highschool for the fourth and final year, emerging from it with I believe a 3.2 GPA. I could have done better, but I did what was comfortable, and that's all I expected from myself. I got rejected from UIC and Loyola but was delighted to be accepted at DePaul. I did a lot of growing in 2004 - Made some new friends (Ali, Marissa), got closer to other friends (Vicky, Alex), and decided that others just weren't worth my time (no need to mention them here). I also confronted my mother about her drinking problem, which is slowly but surely getting better. Marcelo and I won the battle against his parents and their lack of understanding what he wanted, and he and I now live happily together, after working out some of our own problems. The basement that was supposed to be done for my 8th grade graduation has been started and as of right this minute is extremely near it's completion. I got my lip pierced. I successfully completed my first trimester of college with a 3.0 and successfully gained the respect of my English teacher. I saw Metallica in a kickass concert. I began volunteering at PAWS Chicago, aqcuiring three wonderful kittens and teaching me about how to raise infant animals. I bought a now 3-month old Border Collie puppy and named him Christian. My Christmas was far better than last years, and I have nothing but the brightest hope for this year's Christmas.
So, with 2004 behind me and 2005 ahead, I'm retiring this journal. My new journal can be found here:
