"OoOo, she's getting creative with bananas!"

I've been trying to sit down and update this thing for a few days now but have found it nearly impossible to concentrate enough to get further than the first paragraph. I'm gonna try really hard today, and hopefully I'll get somewhere.

Lately I've really been starting to feel the pressures of the holidays, and of everything else. Last Sunday was one of the longest days I've ever had, having woken up at 5:30 in the morning after only getting 3-4 hours of sleep to go to PAWS and help administer surveys to the people bringing their pets into the spay/neuter clinic. We had been there from 11:00-5:00 the day before also, so we were given an idea of what we would be doing. The purpose was to find out who is going to the clinic - What ethnicity they are, how much money they make, etc. We got 17 surveys, which was actually pretty good. We left there at 8:30 and had to be at Youth Ministry at 11:00 to practice Christmas Eve music. The only people there were me, Marcelo, Jackie and Kathy, which is total bullshit. While I don't think that it's right for Kathy and Janet to basically force people to sing or participate in singing when they're not comfortable with it, if that's the decision then everyone should be in it together. No one wants to come for practice, but I'd bet my life that EVERYONE shows up this weekend for the Christmas party, because there'll be food. It's pathetic. And if no one else says anything about it, then I will.

Aside from volunteer work, we've also been incredibly busy with doing work in the basement. There have been INCREDIBLE amounts of progress made, and I still can't believe it's actually getting somewhere. Everything in what will now be the living room has been completely knocked down and thrown out. The couch, the rug, the work benches, the storage cabinets - Everything. And the same thing with what is the bedroom. The walls are painted, the carpet is down, there's a real window there with blinds... it's so awesome.

There was a couch there, and a storage cabinet, and a wall...

There were work benches there!! HUGE benches!! The vanity with the towel on it is only there because Scott used it to lay the door down while he was staining it.

That wall was never there!

WOO!! THE BEDROOM!!!

It's a shame that my photography skills suck...

We've also been trying to clean the house so that we can put up Christmas decorations. Mom gave us a list of all of the things that need to be done in the house, and it seems nearly impossible. She originally wanted us to clean the back porch, but we refused. There is way too much stuff there that we have no idea what to do with. So we decided we'd clean the rest of the house as long as Mom takes care of the porch. We cleaned the kitchen today and that was good. We'll clean one room a day so as not to get overwhelmed or die from all the dust. It'll get done, it always does.

Last night Marcelo and I watched How The Grinch Stole Christmas. The Dr.Seuss version, not the fucked up Jim Carey version. Marcelo had never seen it before. He liked it. It was nice.

Jennifer informed me today that they posted the books we'll need for next semester online. I need one book for Math, one book for Human Sexuality, and like, 6 books/"reading materials" for Religion. I have no idea what I need for Philosophy yet, and I hope to God it doesn't end up like my English class did this semester where I didn't have my books for a good 3 weeks or so. Without needing anything for Philosophy, AND buying everything used, my total comes to roughly $160, is pretty steep, but it could be worse.

EVA WON AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL!!! YAY!!! IT WAS DOWN TO HER AND YAYA AND IF YAYA WOULD HAVE WON I WOULD HAVE BROKEN MY TV BUT SHE DIDN'T WIN SO MY TV IS SAFE AND I'M HAPPY!!!!

*Ahem*

Oh, by the way, Penny Arcade is an awesome comic, even though I know jack shit about games. I hope Tycho and Gabe aren't dead...

Well, unfortunately for me my attention span has come to its end, so I fear I must go. So, here are some closing thoughts:

It'll be cool. Join it!!

The first time he went in his crate all by himself!
