Once on this (wine-filled) island

Broadway music is my happy drug. I have finally found a replacement for missing the marc jacobs fashion show Rellie invited me to (Mireille if youre reading this, you have no idea how much I had mourned), and other missed manila hangouts here in this meadow-full-of-sheep-filled country. If there’s a certain genre of music that would get me tequila-high and singing in the shower the whole day--- this would definitely be it.

This is why I found one reason to spurn utter dislike for this country- ITS ONE WHOLE EFFING MONTH LATE IN AMERICAN IDOL. Die leya, die. Out of all the weeks, why did it have to be broadway week with THE broadway Lord?

Thank God for Youtube. I was thankfully able to watch all the performances. Okay, so I overreacted a little. Im crazy for broadway like that ;). But still, its so different to watch the entire show in one piece, in comparison to what I’ll be doing for the next 3 more weeks. Oh help me God.

As expected, I got really high after watching all their performances (despite brooke and jason’s not-so-good songs). I ended up searching and watching the most random broadway plays on youtube until 3 am. I watched gossip girl too prior to that. Not knowing who that freaking “G” is, and the broadway high, got me to about two hours of sleep. Believe me, I look worse than a raccoon right now :))

We had to leave our flat at 7:30am, we needed to catch our ferry ride to the Waiheke Islands.

*still in the flat*
Me: Mooom, can you please just leave me? I really need to get more sleep

Mom: Its okay, just sleep in the car

Me: Yeah, the docks like what, 15 minutes away?
*I fall asleep as soon as my dad parks the car in some lot outside the dock and wake up an hour and a half later*

Me: (really angry) God! We should have just left later! Its already been an hour and were still in the car waiting for the freaking ferry!

*everyone laughs*
Mom: Leya, look outside

*We were still in the car, with other cars parked around us. I look out.
Me: OHMYGOD. Were at sea. Moving. With other cars. In a ferry. WHATTHEHELL?

Apparently I never knew there was such a thing as a “park your car in a ferry” ride = \ Too awesome.
Although it wasn’t necessary after all to get my high from broadway the day before after all. What do you do here in New Zealand in proxy for bollywood and parties back in Manila? Of course, you go take a ferry in your car to the Island of Vineyards and go wine-tasting! That would go with some salad and margarita pizza, having an awesome view of the bar and its super hot Italian-kiwi busboys and waiters ; D

It's always got to be the Chardonnay for my taste.
