*Slow clap for the end of BSG* I'm still kinda stunned, so...
In no particular coherence...
THE GOOD
- EPIC BATTLE was EPIC! Yay for the Galactica going out with an awesome last battle!
-- and aww that last pan of the ship's name as Adama leaves in the last viper
- Kara and Lee and Helo and Athena going all marine and gunfights! And haha dead!Racetrack blowing shit up!
- Even though I don't ship them, Gaius/Caprica Six were adorable (though Head!Six and Head!Baltar creeped me out)
- In that vein, the throwback to the Opera house scene (and OMG the music) and seeing how it comes together was just beautiful
- Love how they tied things up for the final five and other cylons (seems like they get to live with the humans after all) and HAHAHA YAY for Tory!comeuppance.
-- Also, I totally had my shit together until Lee went 'you will not be forgotten'. Then I completely started wibbling and whimpering. :'(
THE BAD
- During the rescue op, I was all "Why isn't Starbuck in a viper???" right up until I figured out the game plan - which was cool on its own. Still, I would've liked to see her in a viper blowing cylons up one last time :(
- KARA GOING POOF. WHAAA? Umm what happened there? I know they wanted to
keep it interesting, but why did everyone get their happy (or sad) endings except for my girl? *sniffles*
- Also, Harbinger of DEATH? Not-Earth was abundant with life yes? *is missing something*
- What was with the speech slash social commentary at the end? Was like being slapped in the face with a trout. Umm, RDM, we get it okay? Explain the 5000 other things we DON'T GET!!
THE MIXED
- Like so many have been saying, the whole Earth thing was a major deus-ex-machina. Reminds me of the BIG RESET BUTTON: OKay, that other Earth didn't work out, but wait, we have a whole newww shiny planet! It was kind of interesting how they tied it together by Adama calling it Earth (how'd he get the word out if he was busy building a cabin in the middle of nowhere??) but huh, I guess it was kinda anticlimatic (though the WTF moment panning over the moon was cool).
- I guess I liked that they had closure for just about everyone (AWW Helo/Athena/Hera walking into the sunset *g*) and the flashbacks but it really got kinda draggy after a while. I expected to be on the edge of my seat the entire time. But they reached 'Earth' - I went OMFG, and it seemed like it was nearing the end. Then I looked at the clock and they had a whole 50 minutes left. Hmmm.
I'm sure my shell-shocked brain has forgotten something, but there we go, first shot at trying to put my reactions down. Now to try to sleep. Dollhouse tomorrow *g*.
EDIT: And yes I'll shut up now, I'm sure my RL friends are stunned that I have posted more words today than like, the rest of history hehe :P
