Writing this paper is making it doubly clear to me why I instinctively and deliberately identified as male ("a boy") as a kid.
It's really sad that the gender fucked-up-ness is of such a magnitude that it was apparent to me at like seven years old, and apparent enough that I attempted to jump ship at like seven years old.
