I think I now have all of the Pirates of the KakaIru books. Maybe. So, I wanted to share them with everyone. =)

I bought these books for the lulz, honestly. Haha.

I don't know whether to love you or run screaming in the other direction, because I have enough scanlation projects in my queue, but this one is calling meeeeeeee...! orz

Seriously, I adore AU stories, and they occur so rarely in doujinshi form. I mean, KakaIru + pirates can hardly be beaten! Granted, I could do without the initial non-/dub-con aspect, but otherwise these are fantastic! And my gosh, an AU of the AU in "Another World"?! *goes into spasms of rapture*

I completely understand your dilemma! If I was you, I'd almost certainly be running in the other direction. I'd be lying if I said I didn't want these doujinshi translated, but take it from the person who scanned them: they're stupidly long. It look me two days to finish scanning and cropping them. But I had to do it, because pirates and KakaIru? It had to be shared with the world! Wahaha. If you want to, go for it. ;D I'd love you forever. If you'd rather go running and screaming in the opposite direction, I'd be the last person to blame you

Well, despite my initial qualms, I went ahead and translated the first book! And since I seem to have an editor lined up now, it looks like this thing's happenin'!

I kinda wonder why AUs are so incredibly popular in fanworks in the west while they're rare in Japan. They're so much fun! These doujinka don't know what they're missing. Haha, now I'm imagining the regular versions of Kakashi and Iruka meeting their pirate incarnations. I think the ninjas, simply by virtue of having chakra and neat magic tricks, would probably win if it came down to combat, though. And I have never seen such meta AU of awesomeness, no. GOOD TIMES.
