TV's Greatest Insults

My family's favourite has always been "Stupid boy!" from Dad's Army, whenever Private Pike exasperates Captain Mainwaring.

My brothers' other favourite is: "The eyes are open, the mouth moves, but Mr Brain has long since departed, hasn't he, Perce?" from Blackadder. Also the saying "brain the size of a grape".

This list includes one from Life on Mars. There could have been many more from Absolutely Fabulous.

Some of these 'insults' aren't particularly funny, are cruel rather than amusing, or are too dependent upon knowing the background of the entire show.

I do like the one said by Arnold Rimmer from Red Dwarf, "Look, we all have something to bring to this discussion. But I think from now on the thing you should bring is silence."
