Like I say, we're all subject to paranoia, self-analysing and freaking out. And we all tend to do it on the internets, lol :P it doesn't mean you're particularly selfish and whiny or self-obsessed or an attention seeker, it means you're a young adult and behaving exactly like the rest of us. You certainly are one the more stable and rational of us, especially judging by some status updates I've seen (no one here, just to clarify :P)
I always thought our unhappiness was linked to that whole quarterlife crisis thing.
Anyway, on to the issue in hand. You're right to just have a wee bubble about it and forget about it. You were unlikely to be friends with her for life, rarely anyone is friends from ages 4-104. Some just distance themselves from each other, some go out in a big huge bang like here :P
And maybe a little bit of resentment DID play a part, you know, you "fucked off to Glasgow" whilst she's stayed in Coatbridge. Mayhaps she's just lashing out/cutting you off because you've been firmly moved out of her comforable reach (yes, I know you're only a train ride away :P) And of course, what does someone who has known you for 20 years do to hurt you? Go for the jugular. Get at your most insecure spots.
Remember you said yourself you guys hadn't been acting like friends for some time before all this happened. So maybe something like this is a bit of a silver lining... it gives you closure :)
