Dad got me hooked on a new anime. The main character is a young Japanese businessman who, on a mission for his corporation, gets kidnapped. When his company deserts him he goes rogue and joins the pirates who captured him. During his new life as a pirate he gets to cope with arms dealing nuns and insanely over-armed bodyguard maids among other unique challenges.
I have also been watching Meerkat Manor on Animal Planet. Go figure the one soap I actually like revolves around the dramatized lives of animals.
Since I've had so much free around work this summer (only working one job is such a shock to the system, I actually have me time!) I've been busy devouring the books I didn't have time to read during the school year. My current read is Summon the Keeper by Tanya Huff (thank you to
tibara and J for pointing me in her direction) and I really enjoy her writing style! And a conscious, schizophrenic Hell makes me happy.
Picked up a new bird book the other day. I still like ones with paintings more than photos. Photos just miss the range of diversity between individuals. I saw a
Black-headed Grosbeak the other day. Very pretty.
Work is also going well. Wish the weather would change and we'd get more than a half-day of sun here and there though. I like sun and miss it greatly.
