Oh wow! You have fibre too! Where did you get yours? What breed is it? Would you like to get a little (lot) of black alpaca? I've got about 30+POUNDS of dorset-suffolk and about 20+ pounds of (apparently poor quality) deliciously black alpaca. Are you combing or carding? And drop spindle or spinning wheel?

Getting used to being in Canada is a big change considering how long you were away and in a completely different culture. Taking time but not too much time. And GIS sounds like a good thing to go into. And write me!!

Hollie!!! When you infected me with the yarn bug you got me good :D

I got mine at a little place in PEI. I've been looking all over for decently priced, Canadian-grown wool, and she said she was the first person to bring BFL sheep over the border so I had to buy some of that (a bag of natural creamy fiber and a smaller bag dyed flame red), and she had some pretty cheap shetland so I bought a black and a grey bag of that. I haven't connected with the local guild yet so I'm still kind of just working along on my own but I have cards and I'm trying to learn to make rolags and spin woolen on my wheel. It's hard! I got some corridale from another little place to spin worsted just to keep me sane in-between.

What are you spinning with? I would love love love some alpaca! I don't care what quality it is :) How on earth did you get that much? Are you working with full fleeces? You are one brave lady!

I will absolutely write you! I'm sorry I'm such a bad pen-pal. I really do miss you.

I'm spinning with a drop spindle of my own making...actually I'm spinning some alpaca with one and I'm spinning some dorset-suffolk with another. Totally expensive spindles made with toy car wheels, dowels, and cup hooks ( ... )

I am glad that things are looking up for you again! It must have been hard adjusting after so long...

I am feeling that "feast or famine" thing with my work now too. I quit my accounting job pretty much at midnight on April 30th. Which is when we finished with taxes. I started teaching (business english/communications) at the college again though, in CNET and working as an executive assistant for an environmental firm and now the college is working on a contract for another CNET course for me to teach in a couple of weeks. I went from nothing for almost a year to 3 jobs. Being a grown up is hard....

Don't worry too much about being a mature student going back to school. You will find great friends there; just like I did with all of you. <3

Oh I am so glad things are looking up for you again, too! Three jobs! That is insane. I can barely handle one :D How are you holding up with that? I know you really wanted to work at the college though and I'm so glad they're finally trying to making a place for you there. How is it working at the environmental firm? Executive Assistant is a pretty shiny title!

Actually, I've been calming myself down by thinking about how awesome all my slightly older friends from UNBC are and how lucky I was to meet you all when I did. You're right, it's another great chance :)
