Back from the motherland

I got back from Mexico early Thursday morning. I had to cut my vacation short and cut out me trip to Puerto Vallarta because I was dying. I have an infection in my intestines and stomach, I had a fever for many days and a migraine as the icing on the cake. I suffered intensely during the 29 hour trip back to Phoenix. I thought I would die on that bus, my fever was really high, I could not stop shaking and I was hallucinating.

The actual trip itself was amazing. Guadalajara is a very beautiful city, I would love to go back. We were able to connect with family, it was truly unexpected. I did not know what to expect when we got there, the first 2-3 days we just walked around like tourists, eating at random places, shopped, and hung out at our hotel. On the 3rd day we found family and for the remainder of the trip we spent our time with them. My family in Mexico is made up of mostly doctors and lawyers, the reason they never left Mexico is because they are rich in Mexico and lead very comfortable lives. It was cool seeing their homes, talking politics with them, and going to mass in the cathedrals that are older than the United States.

I took many pictures, I will post some later when I have time. I might move down to Guadalajara, my aunt is a professor at a very prominent medical school in Guadalajara and she offered me a place to stay if I move down there. I would love to keep that as an option. I miss the city, coming back to the states was rather odd, everything is so different here, the noises, the smells, the people. Everyone over there treated us like family, even the complete strangers, it was a very nice change.

I really missed my friends though. I missed speaking to them and doing random things. Nothing is quite the same without those who you love. I love taking road trips and going on little adventures when I am accompanied by those I love. It was great to spend time with my brother and mother. I will never forget this experience for as long as I live.
