Okay, so today I decided I'm tired of being cold in my apartment. I had three choices: 1) buy a small heater, 2) buy a heated blanket, or 3) buy a kutatsu (heated table). SO, I decided to buy the kutatsu. It gives me another area to sit and work either on my japanese or on my laptop or whatever. SO, I walk the 10 minutes to the store. Well there are actually two stores, and electronic store (Eiden) and a wannabe home depot. (Don't know the name of that place. I looked in Eiden first, but no luck on the table, so I went to the other one next to it. Found one for around $40, which wasn't bad. However, it's not really light weight. I buy the table, and carry it out of the store. I walk until I was standing in front of Eiden, and decided to resituate myself. I thought I was losing my grip. SO I put the big box down and put my purst in my backpack and picked the box back up. Well one of the guys from Eiden thought I needed some help so he came running over to me (not a bad looking guy by the way) and started saying something in japanese. Of course I tell him I can only speak a little and he offered (in his best english, which wasn't great, but I understood) to carry my box home. I tried to tell him that it wasn't close, but he seemed insistent, so I let him carry it to my apartment. I felt kind of weird letting him carry it, but I was really greatful. It probably would have taken me close to an hour to get it home. But the walk home with him, was weird. It was silent of course since we couldn't really speak to each other. But when we got to my apartment I thanked him profusely in japanese. So, now i'm working on cleaning up so I can set up my new kutatsu. The only problem is I forgot to buy one of those blankets to keep the heat in, but I can get that easily by myself later today. Anywho, that was my very interesting experience for today. (And later I'm going to Sakae with a new friend to find a good bar!)
