kissing

"Sigh. I miss kissing."
"But don't you have makeout sessions with your friends now and again? That doesn't count?"
"It does and it doesn't. It certainly curbs the craving, but what I *really* want is... someone new. That thrill of not knowing when or whether they're going to kiss you, and when they do, of discovering how you like them to, the mystery and wonder in finding out how they like it, whether they like you - and the joy of knowing for sure that they do."
"So it's just the novelty that drives you? How do you know you won't just get bored and want to move on before they do?"
"Quite to the contrary, honestly. The more opportunity I have to kiss the same person, the more I look forward to it. There's a comfort in knowing how to touch someone, knowing that they know how to touch you back, and being able to reach out to them without any awkwardness or uncertainty between you. I like having that one person around to share that kind of kiss with - not that I never want to kiss anyone else, but with them, kissing becomes an experience unto itself. Like a secret language, shared just between the two of us, something we built and learned together. I could never get bored of that."
