what a horrible ride back, the bus was freezing, and i got yelled at in chinese a bunch of times!! They weren't really yelling, but they sounded so mean. i did basically understand what they wanted, one lady came on board and asked for tickets, i inferred this because she made a little speech and then everyone got their tickets out (thanks for the kinkos card kelly!, they prolly would have kicked me off the bus at 3 o'clock in the morning in the middle of d.c.) then another time this lady came up and started yelling (yes she was yelling) and pointing at the seat next to me. I shook my head and made the universal sign for "please sit down". But she didn't, she immediately ran off the bus and returned with a sleeping five year old girl, who leaned on me in her sleep (cute) then later woke up and started crying and whining (not cute)

And the bus driver pulled over once to look at a map(!?!) and once misssed an exit on the highway (around baltimore for 895) so he backed up (on the highway) about oh a hundred yards or so, maybe 200, to get on the right exit.

But at least it only took 6 hours.

But by the time we got into chinatown,ny the cold had made every part of my body ache, and i had to walk like 10 blocks to get to my subway, (i think there was one a lot closer but I didn't have a map, so I just went to the one that i knew of) and some really excited toursists came up and asked me how to get to the empire state building. (at seven am? what?!?) but i just said, I didn't know. cuz i didn't even know for sure i was going the right direction. though i did know they needed to get on the nearest bus or subway and go about 40 blocks north. oh well, i am a mean new yorker now.
